We are live differently, be open minded. I am loving this yearly plan, i WFH, 98% on home or public wifi, use google voice # for work. And no i am not tethered to the phone like many people. I saved so much $ it is unreal.
Same; went from Tello (they migrated from Sprint to TMo, and my service quality became crap where I live) to TF and it's been a worthwhile endeavor for the year. Got two 5G phones and a year of service on each for less than $200, and with the rewards program last year ($150+ worth of service credits), we've gotten many GB's of free data (have only burned through half).

Recently switched one to USMobile (100 day free plan), mainly because we planned to do a lot more rural traveling this year and USM has hotspot + prioritization (both are lacking on TF). Hotspot allowed me to work on some projects while traveling in an RV.

Incidentally, if your aunt doesn't need data, TextNow provides free, unlimited voice and txts. You can use almost any unlocked phone (your aunt should have her Tracfone unlocked). I use an old Galaxy and have had the service for years. No problems. It's also my home WiFi phone. The SIM is a 1 time charge of $0.99. What a bargain! Great for a spare.
Do you need to use textnow on WiFi only? What is the catch?

Tracfone is low cost phone plan for light user, it isnt intended for "unlimited data heavy use streaming movie on 5g 24/7" type of user. Basically, u pay for 1 year of what "other" unlimited plan charge u monthly. Their porting number process is pretty easy and transfer seamlessly, if u run into hassle, just chat to a cs rep and they do it for u. Also, tracfone 1 year prepaid card typically costs around 40-60 so deal like this just mean u get to extend ur current tf service by 1 year and get a free new cheap phone. Dont bother buying the 1 year prepaid card from tracfone, just wait for deal like this one.

No. It's run through the TextNow app. I use it as a WiFi phone at home. But, if you spring for the 99 cent SIM, you can use it anywhere as an MVNO on T-Mobile network. They also provide (free) some slow data that can be used to check email, use maps and get Uber. I have not used that since there are lots of Xfinity nodes in my area. The "catch" is that it is ad-supported so a small banner runs on the screen. I scarcely notice it and couldn't tell you what any of them has said. But that's how it's paid for. I use it throughout the day and have had no issues.

Sounds amazing. Have you noticed an uptick in junk mail, do they sell your address for junk mail?

I have not. But the reality of our lives is that everyone sells/shares/exchanges everything, including your VPN. I have gotten no junk calls through their service even though I have used the # for on-line purchases, etc. There's lots of info. about the service on line. Check them out.

Is the TF version of the Samsung A14 (S146VL) ATT compatible after unlocking ? I can't find a recent ATT whitelist.

Not really. If you look at the Samsung models that are officially supported, most of them are the factory unlocked version (from my understanding, the U or U1 at the end of the model number indicated that those are unlocked models).

I just want to correct some info here, since your username is similar to another org that promotes a lot of half-truths.

https://help.textnow.com/hc/en-us...n-TextNow-

First, a sim card is $4.99, not $.99, maybe it was on sale in the past, but others cannot duplicate this price going forward.

Second, the free calling and text requires a wifi connection, it does not work w/o a premium plan. This is the same service that Google Voice offers, but GV has been around for almost 2 decades, so to keep a number w them is a better bet than textnow, which is a relatively small newcomer. The free slow 2g data only comes with ad free and dataplan, which is not free every month.

Theres a slight chance that your sim got provisioned w the benefits attached w/o a premium plan, and these mistakes happen, especially on smaller carriers that may hire employees that dont pay attention to details. Their official policy suggests it should not be free.

The A23 was $10 more and presumably a lot better performance. Anyone know if/when the A23 will be back on sale? It was on sale last week.
