My old Intel MBP was a beast, but it sounded like a jet plane when those fans kicked in and if I ever used it as a literal "laptop", I'd never have kids again laugh out loud

With that said, I always used it closed and docked and it never damaged the screen even when it got super hot.

With the new M2 Pro, I can hit "go" on a huge render job and can barely even tell it's turned on; it's actually kind of unnerving

many years ago, when I owned a macbook pro 15 2013, the fan noise always made me feel it was raining outside… but I am glad that your screen survived..

I personally prefer the plastic ones because metal ones can potentially scratch your laptop

Giving it a shot to stand up MBP 16 and iPad Pro. Qualified for free same day delivery because pre-coupon price is over $25. Will be here in 3 hours. Thanks OP.

I have aluminum and plastic ones of these, and I actually prefer the plastic one because I don't have to worry about it scratching my devices when I'm inserting them. I feel like when I'm putting my laptop into the aluminum one, I have to use extra care to align it, otherwise I risk scratch the edges of the laptop.

This is a really well made dock, I've been using the single version since 2018. Perfect for my setup and stays stable & adjusts to larger laptops easily

Why?
Just stick the laptop on a table like a normal person.

How do you turn on the laptop without taking it out?
1. Usually, you use this with a docking station. Turn on from the docking station power button. Wake up from external KB/mouse or power button from the docking station.

2. Use this stand to save space. As one of the pictures shows that you can just put your laptop and phone there for charging only.

I use one of these to hold servers in my cluster of mini-pcs (lenovo m710q tiny) and they work well for that.
