You might be able to fight legally on medical necessity. For example if you had a CPAP and the HOA tries to fine the generator "keeping you alive", that's a problem.

Mine is trash. NOT REFURBISHED, looks HEAVILY USED. Oil leaking in box and scratches and scuffs all over outside of generator with sun faded labels. Looks heavily used or left outside for a long period

Contacted the seller and they were very dismissive. Just said to issue eBay Return. The item weighs almost 100lbs in packaging. They want me to load into my car, drive to a UPS, unload from my car, take my hand truck to get into UPS store for what? A refund of what I paid?

They know 100% they never inspected the item, sent an item that did NOT match their description and was NOT refurbished but instead USED (and / or returned after used and never inspected). This seller should not be trusted and buy definitely at your own risk

I do not think all of the effort to return is anywhere worth us being EVEN. And the seller knows this too which is why they DARE you to do the return process

Very similar experience and the customer service response was very telling. Basically daring me to take the time, effort, and breaking my back to return it. For what? To get my original money back? Needs to be a penalty to fraudulent sellers like this. They know these aren't refurbs and they know they don't match their description

In for the 4000.
FWIW - There is a 30% off code that works on their website (MWP30) that I found last week in another thread that still works, seems to bring the pricing to pretty much the same as the 20% code on Ebay. I went with the Ebay because of the extra 2 year warranty that is offered. I didn't look at every option, but seems like mostly the same selection.

The 4000w states 9hr runtime but the other deal for champion generator also 4250w says 22hr runtime. I know no wheels and manual crank on that unit. but if wheels can be gotten for $35, then it seems like a better deal for $60 more

Huh, pulled the trigger yesterday and am only now just reading that it's not dual fuel. Definitely thought it was when I bought it but I guess that's on me. Wasn't planning on using propane anyway but do have a bottle I could've used as backup.

Not necessarily as most states have a registry for that and they are obligated to help people with a CPAP evacuate the area. Of course you have to register as the condition with the state to qualify.

The one at Costco should be a dual fuel and can run off propane. If this was the duel I wouldn't be here typing and would have already ordered it. You get lower power output with propane but also don't have to risk gumming up the system with leftover fuel etc.

Timely deal as well. We had some storms rip through here last week. We got spared but others are still without power. A tornado went down the highway a few miles from our house.

Edit. They have the dual fuels available in both a 4000w and a 3200w available for 400 with $80 off. The 4000w has electric start too but might not coke with the charger…stupid. So in the end you are paying about $100 more to use propane but still a huge discount from Costco.
I think the bigger benefit with propane is not having to worry about gas shortages or availability. We had a severe storm a couple of weeks ago that knocked out power in the area for over 24 hours and many of the local gas stations ran out of gas or didn't have power.

Yes, there is the risk of gas gumming up your carburetor if you let it sit for extended periods and don't use ethanol-free gas, but that's something you can easily control, and you're supposed to "exercise" your portable generator once a month anyway, regardless of fuel source.

Is the smaller one or the bigger one(FIRMAN WH03242F 4000W) enough to startup and run two fridges on power up? If power goes out, Id like to run both my fridges and my internet and some lights etc.. One fridge is a new 2022 Whirlpool and the other is a 1980's old school fridge in my garage.

Thanks

I'm not sure why people think propane is going to be any easier to get in an extended outage / shortage situation, unless you already have a big tank to draw from.

According to their ratings, runtime on propane isn't all that great either, a typical 20lb propane cylinder would be gone in ~7 hours at full load, ~11 hours at 50% load.

Should be more than enough, although the old school fridge's surge might be a concern - hard to say. There's a good chance that even the smaller 1600/2000W unit could manage your situation, providing both fridges don't try to start at the exact same time.

Pass... I almost bought a new wh03242 at Costco a few months ago when they dropped to $600. But I have no use for duel fuel or electric start on small engines, and propane significantly kills the amount of power it can produce. When the battery dies, it wont pull-start on propane anyways, rendering it a useless chunk of metal. Small generator starter batteries generally dont last long, even when they are on a trickle charger. Many die in the box before they can sell the generator when brand new. Reviews showed the claimed 4000 starting watts to be overrated by the manufacturer, for a lack of engine displacement necessary to maintain enough torque to start a 4000 watt load. Then not finding a way to easily disable the co2 sensor on that model killed the deal for me.

My requirement is cheap reliability and simplicity with less things to go wrong. I will likely never exceed 2900 running watts, my starting loads are minimal and I average less than 1000 watts during a power outage. Even less while camping, so this deal seemed like the best for my purposes.

Either way, its great that we can all buy a fairly reliable inverter generator at such a reasonable price. I have 3 Honda's, but reserve them for work, the RV and tailgating to keep the exhaust sound to a minimum with maximum reliability. If someone rips off the Furman while camping in isolated areas, I wont cry too much.
If you don't have use for the features and it doesn't fit your use case, I understand why you'd pass. I do and for $320, consider it a bargain. Your points on battery failing and not pull starting on propane may be valid, but I've never heard that before. FWIW, every single review I found on YouTube for the WH03242F was positive. I'm not sure why the safety feature of a CO2 sensor killed it for you. I certainly understand passing since you don't use more than 1000 watts.

I'm not sure how much I'd count on it ("This item has a 2-year warranty serviced by Allstate."), but I guess it's a little extra "peace of mind" since I bought this thinking it only had a 90 day warranty - the description does say 3 month manufacturer warranty.
are those hard to claim? I bought one for a hammock on amazon

Like all insurance companies, I expect them to default to trying to screw you out of honoring their coverage... but I can't say anything specific about this specific warranty/provider.
