If you've got a lot of spare time and have an expensive trip planned next year, you could book a very short same-day roundtrip to get companion pass for the more expensive trip. For example, if you lived in Denver, you could fly to Colorado Springs and back for $133 and then use the BOGO next year on a $500 roundtrip. Certainly wouldn't be worthwhile for everyone, but might be worth thinking about for some of you.

I was wondering the same thing, but checking the promotion rules it's clear you have to take the flight.

I already have a companion pass from getting the SW credit card. Guessing I can't have another right?

If my wife were to buy a roundtrip ticket for my son, would that count? Would she be able to earn the companion pass?

So, unlimited companion pass for 2months where the promo code or voucher they offer is reusable across multiple trips to get a free companion fare between Jan-March 2024? I doubt that is the case.

The official SWA press release makes it clear that it's for any number of flights:

But do note: you can only change your companion person a maximum of 3 times.

Companion pass, look it up.

It's one person you designate to fly free (+$5.60 taxes each flight) with you when YOU book a flight.

So if you have 8 trips you need to take between 1/8/24 and 3/8/24 and you have the CP, that designated person can fly with you for just the price of taxes. This isn't new.
