I bought this last April. It can fully charge my Asus Zenbook 14X OLED albeit at a slower rate.

Smaller, lighter, cooler, more efficient, and, therefore, presumably less expensive.

The Lightning connector has already been discontinued. Not by Apple's choice, of course. The EU is forcing them to move to USB-C to reduce e-waste. They're forcing all new phones sold in the EU to be USB-C, or they'll be pulled from shelves. The iPhone 15 (releases 8 days from now), and all future iPhones, will be USB-C only. Apparently they toyed with the idea of making the iPhone entirely portless (wireless charging only) to get around the new regulations, but decided against it.
It can charge my phone, watch , AirPods and power my mini-cpap. Very handy.
The only thing I nit pick is the location of the cord and how it wraps around. What maniac designed that.
EU's USB-C standard is at least a large part of the reason.
