I highly recommend upgrading to a 20k RPM spindle, whether you get this or any other 3018 or related CNC. Then they actually work quite well.
Also, since I don't see any on this model, you'll probably want to add end stops.

Not likely because you need to mill out more than the 1.6" this travels on the Z axis..

It should be possible because the you can do your work on a Windows or Mac computer and use the RPi to send the G-Code to the router.

For the AR platform, a proper Jig with a good router will get it done quick. I would be interested if this can do a 80% 1911....

That comes with downsides.

For one, they don't recommend running some ridiculously long USB cable with these because they're prone to generate errors or drop data. So, you're either stuck bringing your desktop into your cutting space or vice versa. These mini mills might be small, but they're still loud and capable of throwing dust around. That's not good for your computer or your design workspace.

If you use a Raspberry Pi, you can dump the Gcode on it via WiFi. This is far more practical for the aforementioned reasons, but it also frees up your computer to do other things, instead of being tethered to your CNC.

If the Raspberry Pi route isn't appealing, they also have driver boards with an LCD and SD slot where you can select and run the Gcode directly on the machine.
