Decent price, but I find these to be kinda weird and light, like an artificial foam, and not as good at staying on hooks or attracting fish as the name-brand ones, which are admittedly twice the price ($3.99, i thought, but they're going for more on amazon [amazon.com] right now). And given that one bottle will last weeks or months of heavy fishing, I reckon it's worth the extra for the powerbaits.

I'm just here for the crappie jokes. Haven't done too much fishing this year but I did start watching a few YouTube fishing channels and I did buy a boat...I'm getting close to needing these!

No. If any fish other than a crappie bites this bait, they explode.

We use these a lot here in Louisiana, but we don't put them on the hook. I have a large syringe that we stuff them into and then inject them under tube jigs. They sell the large custom made syringes here at a lot of bait shops. Then when your jigging for crappie or panfish, the injected crappie bites, slowly dissolve into the water around the jig. I've used them for years, but I'll be honest and say I don't really know if they make a difference. My wife who doesn't use them, often catches just as many as I do. My dad who also does not use them, also sometimes beats me pretty bad when were out fishing. I think maybe it helps with a few fish once in a while when the bite is slow, but overall, I think it does not make much difference. I believe the fish is just targeting the jig and not the scent in most cases.

Only thing we catch on hot dogs are catfish here in Louisiana. We take hotdogs and cut them into thumb size pieces and drop them into a milk jug. Put about 2 packs in there, all cut up. Then we pour in a bottle of star anise oil from the grocery store and a bottle of cheap Great Value garlic powder. Put lid on jug and shake it up real good. Sit in in the refrigerator for a couple days and then you have a ton of bait for catfish. It's stinky and holds on the trot lines or hooks real good. They tear it up and it's cheap bait. Get about 80 baits from 2 packs of hot dogs.
