My current used Herman Miller Aeron has lasted 10 years and counting.

The reviews are really good and you could quite literally buy 13 of these for one Aeron. No doubt it's built much worse but I've seen multiple YouTube reviewers use both long term with positive things to say. One programmer said he found this more comfortable with similar ergonomics but it's just not as 'sexy' (the name).
One thing I've thought about is how much of the cost is over-built for average+ heavy Americans and if you're not a heavy person are you paying for a payload capacity you'll never use?
I ended up picking up the herman miller/logi vantrue chair. I got it 20% off with free shipping. I know that chair is like $600+ but F* it, you only live once. Don't be cheap on your chair.
