For you, better to get it done at the dealer.

I typically spend about $25 DIY for full synthetic. It takes me less time to DIY then to drive to the shop and wait.

Well if your vehicle takes ~ 5 qts then with this deal you're paying about $13 for the oil, then probably $7 or 8 for the filter (I buy Purolator from Amazon and for my vehicles they are $8 plus they are eligible for S&S), so all in for consumables it's like $20ish. If you value your time (will basically always be quicker to DIY when you consider driving to a place then waiting), and you have the tools and space, yeah it still makes sense.

To me, it ain't about the cost, it's about doing it right (full synthetic) and knowing someone won't use an impact/air gun on the drain bolt. I personally use Fram Ultra oil filters from Walmart. Yes I have done blackstonelabs oil reports on engine oil, diff fluid, trans fluid.

Local auto parts stores take used oil. Drop mine off at my local auto zone.

If you notice that an oil is missing the ACEA specification, I consider this is a cheaper oil and I would typically just use in Toyota or Honda.

All you seeking filters, forget the OEM and pick up some Fram Ultras. I had a FP thread last year when they went on sale at Amazon but even at normal Amazon price they are great. Better than your OEM filter and probably similar price and you get them shipped to your door
I use OEM filters for the warranty. No excuses for them if something happens. Qualitywise I don't really know if OEM is really the best fit as manufactuer engine designer see it...

This part. I hate letting other people work on it because they overtake and do other things that aren't right.
I agree but I got a few free dealer oil changes that I am gonna take advantage of.

While on the topic of oil, anyone used these DENSO filters before?

Same here. I remember seeing a youtube video of a guy cutting oil filter brands open and surprisely enough Walmart Supertech was actually decent build and material, and Fram being dead last with cardboard/paper filter. So I've been using Walmart Supertech oil and oil filter for more than several years and so far my truck has over 220,000 miles and still drive it from time to time.
I would also like to say that I preferred DIY maintenance knowing I've done honest work. Cost me about $25 oil + $5 filter + $5 motor flush = $40 w/ tax and about 40 mins. I do all my family oil change. Oh and to dispose it I have leftover empty 35lbs frying oil plastic containers, just pour in the used oil, and bring it to any auto parts store. Not really hard honestly
Motor flush?

For me it's very easy because right in front of my house there's a big rain drain.

You realize there is literally a law that says warranties can't be stipulated based on only using OEM parts. Also do you really think the OEM is going to deny you warranty coverage because you used a different oil filter? (The answer we are looking for here is No by the way)

Are you sure it's a gallon and not 5 quarts? Seems silly that they would have different sizes instore vs online.
It's gotta be 5 quarts
