Be aware that this is the 2021 model stylus. Comes with Android 11 & will only upgrade to 12. That's why it's so cheap.

To summarize some of what's been said in multiple posts:

Yes, good for parents.
Yes, can be used with TMO after it's unlocked
Yes, the phone CANNOT be updated beyond Android 12 (but it can be debloated)
Yes, the "NEWQVC30" code will work if you add a filler to get your subtotal over $60

Explanation:
I got the same phone last year for my mother. She's super happy with it. I honestly don't know if it has NFC, but if it doesn't, she's none-the-wiser and doesn't care. She's using it on TMO.
Indeed, Motorola has NOT released Android 13 for it, and it doesn't look good. In fact, their last Retail Channel update was in March, although AT&T, Boost, and T-Mobile, have all released updates as recently as July (still Android 12 though). To de-bloat it: I network-unlocked the phone first, then unlocked the bootloader, and manually flashed the retail firmware. There are guides out there but it's critical that you don't let it update when you first get it for this to work... So hold off until you're sure which way you're going.
Like others have done for this offer, I added some cheap knick-knack and was able to use the $30 discount.

Oregon has no sales tax but I've always had to pay state cell taxes whenever I've bought TF service, bundled with a phone or just a monthly plan. Usually runs about $1.25. Check what your state requires.
it's still shocking we pay 8.25% sales tax, and it's been that way for over 30 years. When I was a kid in 1970, Sales tax was 5.00%, and we would walk to the toy store with $1.05 in our pocket. It's even more shocking that I was a kid in 1970... Damn, This deal is depressing meFrown

What do you buy to reach $60?
How did you get free shipping on the cheap item?

Honestly, I don't even know what I picked. It was the cheapest item in the clearance section. The screenshot doesn't show it, but my invoice does show a shipping charge of $3.50

Why don't you share bootloader unlock instructions for this specific model?

I probably shouldn't get into a technical discussion, but the steps apply to any eligible motorola phone. Start here: https://en-us.support.motorola.co...ck-program

Q: Why on earth do you care if you get more recent updates than Android 12? They don't offer any added features, just more bloat and intrusiveness. Remember Google's motto from y2k: "Do no evil." Compare that with Alphabet Corp.'s description as of 2014 [or whenever it was they changed their name, I forget but it's irrelevant]: "We ARE Evil!"

This is a SMOKIN' deal for a (from all reports) better phone than the later model based upon the Mediatek SOC.
I agree. Almost every operating system, mobile included, has been nothing but added bloat for many years.
An OS should be a lightweight shell that gets out of the way.

You can not just put the sim in a different phone, however there are ways to combine tracfone accounts to get the phone number and total minutes onto a new phone. You will have to search for the steps, someone had them in the wiki of an old thread. Otherwise you can search for this question on the reddit tracfone subreddit or google it. Feel free to share here with others if you find the steps.
Thanks much for the info. Sounds like quite a bit of work and maybe it can mess up the accounts. I should focus on making more money instead of chasing down this rabbit hole to save money.

Really? It couldn't be simpler. All you do is go to TF website, select activate, I want to keep my current number & enter the IMEI of new phone. Balance combines on new phone & extends service time.
The same info is in every TF thread on Slickdeals.
If that's too difficult just call support & they do it for you.

When does the service start? From the moment the phone ships (like with Boost Mobile) or from the moment the user activates the phone? Thanks!
