It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

Just get the 5 seater, take it to a Tesla Certified shop and get the seats added for $1500.
Please elaborate, I'm genuinely interested in going with this route if all possible. Searched around the Web, and I couldn't find any good info. Thanks in advance!

Sis bought a 2018 X P100D brand new and just had the entire battery replaced with ~40k miles. Replacement cost was almost $22,000 but luckily covered under warranty. Build quality is trash inside out. Rattle city. My $32k Mazda is another level comparatively.

I know the suspension on the newer X (2019+) is drastically improved with the adaptive suspension..huge difference in ride quality. This has become a decent deal but could use another $12-15k drop.

Teslas have always been way overpriced and only this year have they started to come down to being OK in price with the tax credit. Spartan interior and no combo heated/cooled seats is laughable in this price range.

Astute mathmatically... but you assume (or at least infer) that high earners don't have hobbies or fill in down time with less than economically efficient past times...

I make about 200k.... I have a small need footprint and don't have many bills. I find myself buying things I didn't know I needed because I can save 20/50 bucks I found here. Show me a slick deal on a DeWalt tool and I am gonna buy it if I can come with some way I can possibly use it (even theoretically - ask my three year old belt sander still in the manufacturer packaging!). By the time I pay for the gas to drive to Home Depot pick up the tool.... I may not get any savings at all. But I enjoyed the hunt and it made me do something of value (besides working on building a better mousetrap in my paid gigs). Even if it's just imagining what I might do with the object of my imaginations. If they paid me $100+ an hour for all my waking hours to refrain from trolling the latest tool and tech deal on Slickdeals.... I suppose I'd refrain because it made economic sense. But they don't. So I don't. And if we turn it into a survey of whether I'm making rational economic calculations with every minute I have... I would lose. I play games on my phone sometimes and it is a complete waste of time.

My time is worth more than what I save.... for sure. But I derive a lot of value and I enjoy the hunt... and that is worth something. I won't give up 100 bucks an hour to do it, but in my downtime, I love looking for the tool or toy that I didn't know that I needed.

If you're interested in filling some of my time with more economically viable ways to kill time... reach out. I am smarter and more diligent than any department of devs you've ever run across. I am the best project manager on wheels because I can't be BS'ed and I can do all the work myself if I have to. In the meanwhile.... I have more awake time than I have clients paying for it. They wrongly assume I want to do something other than solve problems. Smilie

When I have down time... I shop for new tools/toys or go use the newest ones. I think I might need a plaid. But first I have to find out what one is! 🤣
You won my brain the last 5 min, I congratulate you for that.

I too am in the same arena you laid out for your daily endeavors. It's a fickle beast to say the least.

Hmm not going to lie, I kinda wish I wouldn't have got the corvette in May this year with this costing the same for the Plaid.
Corvette is a way better car...a REAL car with emotion, feel, and heritage.

I recently saw an MKBHD video for the NEW fastest car ever made - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF9xYtouZjY
Porsche invested in rimac early on and uses its architecture in their electric cars. The Porsche family has majority stake in VW which owns the Porsche brand along with Bugatti. They have also given Bugatti over to Rimac as well. Look up Bugatti rimac joint venture

I agree it has emotion, feel and heritage, but it feels like fake speed. It's just the sight, sound and feel, but cars that are quiet can actually go faster.

No apple car play and android auto. Proceed with caution
You can add android auto with $5 app in play store. The app is called TesAA and works well off of an android phone.

I'm pretty sure the plaid was going for $130k early last year. That's a big drop in a year and a half.
That audience that wanted a plaid probably didn't care even at $130k+
0. Still a bargain to smoke any hypercar off the line

Totally agree with you. I like the look of the Corvette. It looks fast and it sounds fast and I can see the emotion coming from the car.
Well, In my memory, I've smoked some Chevy Corvettes and Camaros like SS, ZL1 models with V8 Hemi engine or what not with my Tesla not even a Plaid model.
They all appeared in my rear view mirror. The drivers in those cars can defiantly fill the heritage with regrets unless they are so emotionally attached to their cars.

So no way to get $7500 with 6 or 7 seater right. Also Tesla site seems to suggest $7500 credit may be reduced next year?

Good prices seem to be coming down. Obviously those who purchased at high prices are going to complain. Same goes of other manufacturers as well anyone who bought a new vehicle over paid in the name of market adjustment. In case of Tesla the company itself charged for the market adjustment
Prices don't drop so fast like this. The last time something dropped like this was the Chevy Bolt price cut. GM proactively gave everybody who bought recently a refund of the difference. Ofcourse Tesla would never do that, even if you begged.

Yes car prices are starting to normalize. With Tesla you see the drop on MSRP. With others you see the market adjustment drop.
