It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

Im about to order a G80 BMW M3 manual base spec for ~$82k. After the price drop, Ive been tempted to get a Plaid instead...but as a car nut, Id much rather have a car that provides me way more feedback, fun, engagement, etc than just straight speed. The consumables and maintenance are going to cost me way more in the long run, but meh...you only live once and it's going to be my last ICE.
It's like holding in to the vinyl because you like the way it makes you feel.

No, they are not. A simple google search will show you're wrong, try it.
What makes it less slick is that the people that can afford these cars won't get the extra 7.5 + 2.5k credits. Frown

Oh, so now you're specifying production?

Because there are lots of drag cars that'll do much quicker. But at the same time, ok, 0-60 in under 2 seconds in a straight line. That's the only thing it has going for it, fun wise. Useless on a track. No engine sound. Terrible steering wheel. Terrible QC. Yeah, electric will be even faster in the coming days, but there's nothing particularly exciting about EVs. Everything about cars that made people, 'car people' are gone with an EV.
-How many street legal drag cars you know run 9.2 1/4m over and over and over without sweat?
-The plaid, a warrantied family sedan, did Nurburgring in 7:25
-You choose round or yoke steering wheel, free

I'm a car guy, I own multiple performance vehicles as well as drag cars. Your comments come off ignorant as hell. Educate yourself. Do better.

Ive been a BMW hater my whole life lol..I really only liked the E30 and E36. For me it's always been about a car having bulletproof reliability with fun instead of all-out performance. I am a diehard manual guy (still have it in me to own ONE more) and the options for sedans with a manual are limited now.

I need a little bit more space so cant elect for the CT4 Blackwing. With the B58 having Toyota's approval, to me it means a lot and several BMW models are using that engine since 2015 with good reliability. I think the S58 in the M will be quite solid (knock on wood) since its a beefed up B58. All of the other drivetrain parts in modern cars being plastic does scare me, but at the end of the day...im not just looking for fast. Im looking for build quality, a more aggresive look, handling, and fun as a daily.

I'll try test driving a Plaid, i just dont want to get into an EV so early as I feel there are going to be a lot more options in the near future. Ideally I would like to wait to get into an EV until solid state batteries become a thing...
What you don't realize is that you simply need an E39 M5. Classic build quality, manual only, beautiful engine, and amazing sound and plenty of power/torque. It's the benchmark for a reason.

Test drive a plaid. There is no law that says you can't have both.

I'd say another bonus is losing a day at the dealership buying the damn thing. No more "let me talk to the financing department or manager" BS tactics trying to freeze you out in negotiations to take their crappy come back offer. HATE DEALERSHIPS.
The fact that you folks actually used the dealership for service says a lot, lmao

What t f are you talking about? Because of tesla price reduction, other competitor has to reduct the price too. Isn't it good for the market? Dealer doesn't like because they are fking loser

You can hate musk for whatever reason. But you cannot deny that Tesla car are one of the best ev car on the market. And tesla charging network is the best.

I owned two Evs and recently test drove Hyundai, ford. None of them coming close to Tesla's software. The only issue I see for tesla is their quality control
Go to a dealer and ask them yourself. Don't ask me. LOL. Musk making random price reductions means many dealers won't touch Teslas now. Why buy something when you're going to get burned later?

Savage reply but very true. You can get a M3 for less than a medium equipped Civic which is missing countless features compared the the M3. Then to mention the no EV maintenance & energy costs are greatly less than my gas car was. It's amazing how many people are stuck in their own mental jail.

The only thing I dislike about my MY is how bumpy the ride is. I came from a Honda Pilot.

I want to know where I can get a BMW "M3" for this price, sucks that people keep calling this the "M3"

Will the REAL "M3" please stand up? please stand up?

Do you think they will drop Model Y prices ? I'm in the market for Model Y and thinking if I should wait
I predict the process on a Model Y will drop by October since the M3 highland will be offered here in North America. My guess is standard range will start at $42k. Long range will start at $45k. Then add the$7500 credit.

I'm waiting too and hope this is true.

We bought a used 2018 75D X early last year for the same price as a new one now. I sorta feel like as if I invested in bitcoin. Resale value just tanked for sure.

The real M3 is a coupe, and it stopped with the E46 (debatably E92). Modern BMWs are complete abominations to the brand.

+1 TU!

Wow, I was already looking at the X but I wasn't willing to spend $100k+ vs the Volvo EV90 coming out.

Now at $73k with the tax credit its an amazing deal. Usually the car deals posted on this site are complete BS, like you have to live in a specific zipcode and be related to the babysitter of the heir to Ford and wine and dine the local dealer to take off the markups.

This is a legitimate deal and will definitely buy in Jan (the tax incentive has an income cap this yr so need to wait for 2024....).
According to Tesla, 2024 might not get the full 7500 tax credit. I'm debating as well to get it next year or this year…

Now you're categorizing.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.

Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
Thats a super cool story bro.
