It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

Just picked up a demo Model X plaid.

Delivery experience was great and service advisor was helpful. There were a handful of issues with the car that they were able to immediately fix with the rest placed under a service order. Unfortunately to be expected with Tesla and was a bit of a turn off, especially on a $100K car.

But boy did that all melt away when I punched it! My new X has ruined all other cars for me…except for maybe a model S plaid ;-).

Geico does not offer GAP insurance. Also, your math is wrong. Only few insurance companies will give you a brand new vehicle unless you have new car replacement on your policy- but however, what you're mentioning is policy specific and if you paid extra for that coverage. You're only assuming if the person who owned it has the right coverage. If you look at reddit posts, some people are insuring the Model X's at $250-$300 a month! Most insurance companies will follow the replacement value of same miles, year, and quality. If they can find three different Model X used at $70k at different dealerships instead of $80k, that's what they will go with. They generally follow the average of the comps, similar to appraiser for homes. When I totaled my Mach E GT earlier this year, that's what Geico used to calculate my lump sum payment, and NOT for a brand new one.

Luckily, my Mach E GT was MORE expensive because this happened in January right before the huge price drops from Ford, so I ended up making more than I paid for my car.

Not exactly, BMW and Mercedes already have EVs out on the market, cheaper for lease than a Tesla. One can argue that the BMW iX or Mercedes EQE/EQS SUV lease deal is a better deal than the Tesla Model X, lease, with their most of their MSRPs depending on trim being higher than that of the current Model X while being able to take advantage of the leasing tax credit NOT available on a Tesla as of this post while having BETTER interior quality and ride quality/comfort.

Gap insurance is usually offered by the lender, not the insuring company. I got it for $240, well worth the peace of mind.

So again if you bought a 6-figure car without it, that's really on you.
Outside of Tesla, if you put 20% or more down on a car(at MSRP), Gap insurance is typically a waste.

I have added this thread link to the Master warranty thread. Seems to be the most positive one so far.

It's often available with either- and the insurance company option is typically a little cheaper, but the fact the lender also offers it removes the objection of it not being available with the insurance company

But in all the examples given the downpayments were 10% or less (because that was the only way they could make the price cut look bad by bringing up the payoff gap-- apparently aware of the existence of gap insurance when they tried to do so which is intended for exactly that situation).

If you put 20% or more down on a 110k car, even if it's totaled after 6 months AND the 30k price cut on a base model you STILL would be fine as far as replacing the vehicle- since net of the now-available-but-wasn't-before tax credit on that base model you'll come out with about the same net loan as you had before and have a 6 month newer car (with free choice of color now too)

Most EV charging is done at home anyway.

But if you use someone's referral link you can get 3 months of free FSD and $500 off the S or X.

Happy to! Rule of thumb is anything quick (buffing out scratches, seat fixes, etc.) they'll fix immediately. Anything longer (deep scratch, panel gaps, etc.) they put to a service order.

For my car it was a couple of scratches + an issue where they didn't put the clips holding a seat bottom together. Again, kinda wild given the size, complexity, and premium positioning of their cars.

Service center is going to take care of one scratch that couldn't be buffed out + a couple of minor panel gaps.

A lot of people rightfully criticize Tesla for its build quality and consumers who ignore them but...man...driving the X in plaid mode had me involuntarily screaming with joy.

Side note: Highly recommend anyone to try and spring for the plaid if you're already getting a six seater. Small increase in price (relative to the purchase) in exchange for one of the fastest cars on the road, upgraded calipers, and upgraded interior.

Coudl you attach a picture of this "clips holding a seat bottom together" so I can be sure to look out for it when I get mine? Pictures tell a thousand words...

Trust me you can tell. I wasn't able to take a photo…I just pointed at it when doing my inspection.

The bottom of the middle seat was popped open so you could see the inside. SA profusely apologized and said that it was a clips issue. Fortunately an easy fix, but seriously guys…how is that stuff still happening??

$600 discount for having a few miles on it. I did some extensive research and it seems like everyone had great experiences with demo models.

The same way it happens at car makers who make even more cars and have for a century- heck here's a Ford that came new from factory where the 2 front seats don't even match-

https://www.autoevolution.com/new...21081.html

Back when I took delivery of my brand new Lexus a couple of the clips on the dead pedal were not just popped off, they were actually broken- with said aluminum dead pedal just hanging loose rattling by the other clip.

Not every car is perfect out of the factory, not for any brand. In your case sounds like they just had to pop the clips back in, which is an easier/faster fix than either my Lexus where they needed a new part or the Ford where they'll need a whole new seat.
