That's correct. Unlike just about every Windows PC on the market, you cannot upgrade the SSD, which really sucks given that otherwise you could get 1TB for around $35.

Honestly, at $528 this is a pretty bad deal. The performance is hobbled by the low-powered processor, there are no ports except 2 Thunderbolt, and it's not particularly light. I got this ThinkPad Z13 [ebay.com] on eBay for $589, brand-new, which is kind of the Ryzen version of the XPS 13 - but with 2x the storage (and upgradable), 2x the RAM, 1080p camera, about double the performance [cpubenchmark.net], and 3-year warranty.

How do you like the Z13? The listing doesn't list any specs, and I haven't been able to find the model number to look it up on psref.

nevermind, found the specs. looks good, but a bit heavy for a 13.3" laptop considering the Acer Swift Edge 16 weighs almost the same. Is it a solid all metal build?

The Z13 has great build quality and fantastic battery life. I'm impressed so far.

The Z13 weighs almost exactly the same as the XPS 13 - 2.6 lbs. Considering how much more powerful it is than the XPS 13, that's pretty good. I haven't handled the Swift Edge 16 but anything that size that weighs under 3 lbs is probably magnesium, which feels different, many people think it's cheap plastic even though it's not. It will definitely flex noticeably more than an aluminum laptop, it's the trade-off for the weight.

Yeah, I have owned multiple LG Grams and love the magnesium. No issues with materials or plasticky feeling. I like the specs of this Z13, but a bit worried that it will be hard to go to a 13.3" 2 63lb laptop after using my 15 6" 2.47lb Gram 15, or my recently sold 2.2lb Gram Style 14. Another thing that gives me pause is that it uses a 2242 SSD, which tend to be twice as expensive as 2280, and max out at 2tb.

I so want to like the LG Gram series, love how light they are. I've bought 3 and returned each. The first one (14", 8th gen Intel) totally failed out of the blue a few weeks in, wouldn't turn on at all. The second's (15", 11th gen Intel) USB-C port failed a few weeks in. The third (14", 12th gen Intel) ran really loud and hot. Maybe it's just bad luck, but I've never had such bad experiences with any other line of laptops - and I've bought a lot of them.

That's unfortunate. I have had the completely opposite experience. Owned a 8th gen i7 Gram 17, and it worked well besides being a bit slow. Then bought an 11th gen Gram 15 that I still own. Love this thing. So light and just a pleasure to use on the lap. Earlier this year I also bought a Gram 17 12th gen i7/32GB/RTX 2050. Absolutely amazing laptop at around 3.1lbs. Comes with a 90Wh battery and also a dual fan setup due to that dGPU. I also recently bought a Gram Style 14 OLED. Amazing little laptop that weighs a bit under 2.2lbs. One of the best looking laptops I have ever used. I ended up selling it has I got some eye strain at low brightness levels due to OLED PWM, and the keys were a bit stiff compared to my other grams. I just wish the Grams were available with AMD processors. That is my only gripe with these laptops.

After using my grams, I find it so hard to go to heavier laptops. Bought a Zenbook 14 OLED that weighed a bit over 3lbs, and it felt like a brick compared to my Gram 15.

I have a super powerful desktop with an AMD 5950x when I need the best performance, but when it comes to laptops, weight is the number one consideration now. What I love about the LG Grams is that they don't compromise on battery size in order to reduce weight. In fact, it is the opposite. They have some of the largest batteries in their size category. As an example, the 2.7lb Acer Swift Edge 16 has a 54Wh battery, but my 2.47 Gram 15 has an 80Wh battery, and the 2.6lb Gram 16 also has an 80Wh battery. I know AMD chips are more efficient, but that is still a huge difference.

I would stay away from the 9315. The fan never turned off and was very loud. This mainly happened when it was plugged into a charger or docking station. Either they didn't use enough thermal paste or the design can't accommodate the heat without excessive fans on.
