How badly do you want a TV? The price will match or go below this in a few months for Black Friday, then in January the C4 will be announced and these will go even lower.

It's the same cycle every year. There's no magic formula. The smart money would try to find a C2 (or G2) from last year

Getting...WARMER.

Edit: Predictably, Amazon matched the price. what they didn't match (or at least what I can't see) is any gift card match, making the Best Buy deal technically the best price on this TV so far (new at least).

Was waiting for this and now I'm torn. I somehow found a new C1 65 a few days ago for $1200, apparently the last of its kind in the depths of the Best Buy inventory. Would be an easy choice to get the latest version but it's for basic use and there will be no gaming involved with this set. I like the idea of saving $500. Still, it's very tempting but I'm thinking the C3 will come back to this price during BF in case I'm just that disappointed with the C1. But the $100 gift card is a nice too.

If there's no warranty concerns and you don't have it in a bright room, you probably wouldn't notice much of a difference.

I bought the c1 last year when everyone was chasing the c2. I paid $1,100 through Walmart for a 65" plus $200 cash back through Amex. Absolutely love the tv and have not noticed any noticeable differences between the c1,c2,c3. I'd argue the c1 has better gaming experience than the c2 as well due to extra settings you can no longer tweak on the c2

The biggest differences between the C1 and C3 is that the C3 is better at upscaling low resolution content and supports DTS audio.

Haha, I'd love if the 77" goes to $1999. I really want the 83" C3 or G3 to come down. It's hard to justify the $2000 extra for 16% more screen over a 77". You could almost buy (2) 77" C3's for the price of (1) 83" C3.

FWIW I have a CX and my friend has a C3 and I don't notice much difference between them personally. Depends on your use case though, as the C1 isn't as bright as the newest models. $500 difference definitely wouldn't make up the difference for my use case in a dark basement.
