Beware of the 17zB90r, the "B" is the cheaper model. It is not the successor to the 2022 Gram 17 (that is the 17z90r without the B)
The "B" model appears to be an update of the 2021 model which has slower ram, ssd, 720p camera with FP reader vs IR face recog, and comes with the fixed cord power supply.
Now there are three levels of "Gram 17", the budget one advertised, the normal one (European spec?), and the discrete GPU one (it was called Gram 17 Pro in 2022).
There are virtually no reviews of the zB budget model, but it's the one at Costco and linked here. That said, the 2021 model was good, but it's not right to buy the zB models if you are expecting the same or better specs than the normal 2022 model. You're not getting the $1600 laptop that is commonly reviewed as the "2023 Gram 17" for $800.
The LG Gram 17 is a engineering marvel. It's almost the perfect business travel laptop. Almost.
The Good:
+ light weight way beyond your expectations
+ good screen
+ good performance (P series CPU)
+ affordable
The Meh:
x The screen flexes / wobbles a bit. This is entirely expected from a 17" laptop that only weighs 1.3kg.
x Barely fits into the standard issue Tumi briefcase every businessman runs around with. It does fit. But it might break if your briefcase falls.
The Bad:
- the keyboard is insufferable: more crammed than a Surface Pro's in order to to accommodate a numpad and the keys require way too much pressure to register
- the touchpad and it's keys are insufferable - (I could live with that as I use a travel mouse anyway)
- the speakers are teeny - (sucks but I could live with that)
- the finish is a fingerprint magnet
Mine is going back to Costco because of the garbage keyboard alone. Real shame. Otherwise this would be the perfect large screen business travel laptop.
If you mostly dock it at home to a proper keyboard, it may still be worth buying it.

"The light construction also has its price, and the base unit and even more so the lid can be warped. But this still remains within completely acceptable limits. The hinges hold the lid tightly in place, although there is a slight wobble. "
But why would one be flexing the screen on purpose?
Simply lift or close by holding the lid in the middle of the front edge and there's absolutely no issues.

I have the 12th Gen i7 Gram 17 and an 11th Gen i5 Gram 15, and I find the keyboard and trackpad to be really good on both. The trackpad on the 17 is much larger and works really well. I had an 8th Gen Gram 17, and that one had a terrible keyboard. The keyboards are not going to compete with older gen ThinkPads with 1.8mm key travel, but I really enjoy typing on them. Zero issues.
The only negative thing about the Grams for me are the tinny speakers. The finish on my gray Gram 15 is the best when it comes to fingerprints. Never seen a single fingerprint on that one. My black Gram 17 is indeed a fingerprint magnet, but easy to clean.
So far these are the best laptops I have owned. In a class of their own when it comes to weight and battery life. They have zero competition if battery life is important to you. There are a bunch of other ultra light laptops, but they all compromise on battery size. And as far as I know, the Gram 17 is the only 17" 16:10 laptop that is currently available (I think there used to be an LG Ultra PC, but that one was over 4lbs). The 17" screen is just amazing if you can deal with the slightly larger footprint compared to a 16" laptop. It's bright (I measured 424 nits), matte, and offers quite an immersive experience for a laptop.

I agree with all that. What I'm comparing the keyboard to is the Surface Pro's. And compared to that, it is complete garbage sadly. It is really sad. I was hoping this would be my new travel laptop. Perhaps if LG fixes it in the future, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I'd even forgive it for the tinny speakers.
Just an fyi. Laptop itself is awesome. Fast, quiet, super light. but DAMN THING NEVER GOES TO SLEEP when you shut the lid. Multiple times I shut it and put it in my bag and it was on the whole time and super warm and killed my battery. Tried windows updates and all settings and still rarely does it sleep correct. I just shut it down every time but it's annoying.

Without a Nvidia GPU, good for classic emulators, 2d games, and light gaming.
But honestly, any gamer really needs a nvidia gpu laptop.
Like the lg gram with nvidia
