I grabbed this one with the full power 3060, refurbished from acer with the 2yr warranty.
Coming up on a year and it has been a great laptop.

Handles D4, MW2, Assassin Creed etc with no problems.

The start up noise sound it plays was cool the first couple times.. than it's annoying. This is disablable in bios.

My unit arrive looking brand new. Popping the rear cover off, there wasn't even any dust in the fans.

This thing IS on the heavy side. Plus the powerbrick it's heavier than most.

My takeaways from the videos are:

150W 3070Ti (like the ones in this) are within probably 12-15% of the desktop version, which is really impressive
Overall this is a really nice laptop, good cooling/thermals but the fan can get loud
2x DDR5 capable slots (installed: 2x 8GB)
The included 1TB NVMe is good, almost gets to comparable speeds as WD850X/Samsung 980 Pro
Second M.2 slot is available, but make sure to get a single-sided drive due to clearance requirements (it looks like you can probably use a double-sided drive on the left/primary slot, but I can't confirm because I don't have it yet)
Although not listed directly in the specs, this model is supposed to have a 240Hz display, and the screen colors are reported to be above average/very good
Only 1 USB-C/Thunderbolt port (on the back), and it doesn't tie into the discrete graphics card (3070 Ti)
Includes a mini display port and HDMI port that do connect to the discrete graphics card
This model can charge using the USB-C port (not sure what limitations this has)
Build quality is good to great
Hinges feel sturdy, although while typing it can shake a bit, which is not very noticeable viewing the screen, but can be jarring for the webcam
Startup sound will probably get old fast and can be disabled in the BIOS or software
Per-key RGB controls

I purchased an Acer laptop and Acer desktop a few years ago. Both were complete duds. Won't ever buy this brand again.

Is the RAM soldered on or is there at least an open SODIMM slot?

Just say no to Dell G series. I sold my G15 a few years back due to the overheat issue. Re-paste did not help.
Yeah same. Especially once they disabled the ability to undervolt.

8gb, which by gaming enthusiasts is considered on the low side these days… good enough for general population though for sure

I jumped at it. Normal retail price was 2k. Has to be better than the 1500 retail of the asus tuff. Better build quality and screen. 3070ti vs 4070 is close enough for me for a nicer screen upgrade and nicer build.

I received my Acer yesterday. I love the system, but it has one terrible flaw. The wifi antennas are poor. They are located an the very front of the laptop (which has become more common instead of behind the screen), but I can only get a decent signal if I am in the same room as my router. I only get a Wi-Fi 6 signal of 100mpbs or so from a room away with terrible throughput - way too slow for gaming.

My Dell G16 7630 has the antenna in the same location, but I get a strong signal.

I know it's not my router, I have a Asus GT-AX11000 router.

Has anyone else encountered serious wi-fi issues with this laptop?

Man - I had to bite the bullet and get this one. Some of the keys are starting to go out on this laptop and you can really feel the effects of an integrated GPU. I hate having to fire up the desktop just to get things to load faster

I bought a refurb Acer Predator with the 3070ti a couple months ago off ebay. The hard drive had total boots.

I can't say about this one, but from that thread, basically companies were buying these for their staff who need something stronger than a business laptop. They've be opened and custom software would be installed, They'd order too many, and it wouldn't be used and returned. Acer would have to reformat it, and it be considered refurbished as a result.
Had what total boots?

My laptop got delivered today. It came with 71 power on count, so not "brand new", but I don't think that's overly used either.

My first thoughts, this is a really nice laptop. Not regretting my purchase at all. The keyboard is very quiet, the keys feel good and the backlighting is very good. The 240hz display is very smooth and feels plenty bright and colorful to me. During normal light demands (browsing, watching a movie, checking email, etc.) its almost silent.

Wi-Fi has been great, and the speakers are better than I expected. You can definitely tell this is a premium laptop. For the price I think its great. I'll share some more thoughts when I have had a chance to use it more over the next few days.

It was packaged well, and despite having a fist-sized hole in the box the laptop was padded from it. In the box is a single-page flyer from Acer, the power adapter (big!), the power cable, which was already connected to the adapter, and the laptop. The laptop was in a sleeve, which was a nice surprise. It doesn't have any pockets or anything, but still nice to have. Its not a tight fit, the laptop has some room to move around in it, but not too bad.
