WSJ Online is free through many libraries. Have been reading it for free, from the comfort of my home or at work for $0.00 for years now.

I can never get 12ft.io to work on the WSJ. I'll check out that GitHub link though

Does this include access to marketwatch.com?

I don't think you get access to the sister news companies by signing up with Apple News.

WSJ used to be a decent paper. After News Corp purchased the company in 2007, it wasn't worth reading.

Just another propaganda rag owned by a mega corporation, which leaves you less informed than before you read it.

Quote from BrainDoc :
You might not care but here's my perspective.

I read a lot of news and have for decades. I get the WSJ and NYT free through work. I used to read the NYT, WSJ, the Washington Post, and the Associated Press regularly. I stopped reading the Washington Post last year. Its quality tanked over the past several years. It's been struggling for a while but I don't think Jeff Bezos helped it any.

More recently I've also mostly stopped reading the NYT. They have some good articles from time to time but I find that for general news, the WSJ is really good; it has a business focus but they cover everything major. Their general reporting is solid and about as unbiased as possible (it really is). Maybe you want a strong bias in your news but I prefer news to be less biased.

Now, their opinion section (not news) has a strong bias but those articles are easy to ignore if you don't like that bias. I mostly steer clear.

So now I'm mostly just reading the WSJ and Associated Press with a few other random stories that pop up from other sources (NPR, BBC, NYT, local). I think this gives me a less biased source of news from my I can draw my own conclusions colored by my own biases. I might switch away from the WSJ if its quality declines but they've maintained great quality (in my opinion).

Here is my suggestion. I tried them out when I first heard about them in 2021 when Covid was taking off and lies were flying from the usual MSM outlets. They have promotional offers at good deals, but I finally subscribed to the yearly for $99.
They have rarely needed to update their articles or correct errors...but I like that they do if they in fact find or are told about a disagreement. To me, in this day and age, I find THAT refreshing.Wave Unlike NYT and WAPO who will bury their faux retractions on page 20 a few days later!vomit Disingenuousnod

I just did a search and found this link titled: About Us- Check it out if so inclined. I just reupped 2 days ago for $99 annual and it covers all their content across the spectrum.Peace

Here is their open:
"The United States is entering a moment of extreme division and turmoil: conservatives and liberals are in conflict, traditional values clash with progressivism, communist and anti-communist forces are in a cold war, there is a war between Russia and Ukraine, and there is a nuclear threat. Inflation and skyrocketing prices have led to a world that has never been more chaotic and confusing.

The media, which used to show mutual respect, is now severely divided. Left-wing and right-wing media accuse each other of being fake news, and the labels of extreme left and extreme right are thrown around indiscriminately. Journalists and media outlets are no longer respected and trusted as they once were. If you want to report the truth, you have to be very brave, like a warrior, because you will be attacked, canceled, fired, and sued, more than in any other period in history. We know that a significant number of Americans lack confidence and optimism in the media. However, we have hope that we can regain the trust of the American people through honesty and integrity.

Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks, we have never lost hope in our mission to report the truth. Our commitment to journalistic integrity has not wavered, even in the face of adversity."

There is an alternate offer on the promo page called the "WSJ Digital Bundle" for $1/week that comes with Marketwatch access.

I have been reading WSJ for years now, and quality of their articles are amazing and very well balanced. Opinion section leans more towards to republican/libertarian but their reporting is very balanced and much better than junk Fox/CNN

Fake news. Deal would be only on paper version to use straight for kindling without opening it.

They're trying hard here. Reassuring that WSJ is hitting close to the mark. Facts are inconvenient things.

Don't have the link, but WSJ was deemed least biased by a non partisan group recently. They called out the propaganda from nytimes, cnn, fox, etc

The WSJ is probably one of the last real newspapers out there. They go straight down the middle when it comes to real news and lean right when it comes to opinion. For me, it's perfect.

You don't have to subscribe to the honest outlets that is up to you.
Continue on with the ones you use that we are all aware of i.e. WAPO-NYT-WSJ.

Opinions are like belly buttons we all have them. nod

I guess your and my opinions differ. The establishment Newspapers are NOT my choice any longer.
You can continue on with them... which then makes you...quite a joker.

Oh man just found out my library added wsj just 2 months ago! And I've been paying $4 a month like a sucker!

My library has 72 hour passes so you just need to go through the library portal once every 3 days which is not bad at all. Thanks for the tip!!
