I installed four of these yesterday. The 500lb version, that is. Here is what I found:

1. The brackets are held to the wood by extremely small screws. The brackets will wobble. Two screws actually had the head broken off, resulting in just the body of the screw stuck in the wood. Luckily there is enough room to drive another screw of your choice in next to any broken off ones. Note, I don't think it is a huge deal that they are a bit wobbly pre-installation, because once installed to studs, they can no longer wobble. They'd have to both wobble together, and I haven't found this to be an issue.

2. The braces come with lock nuts on the bolts. This is good. The bad thing is, you MUST check them. Nearly half of the nuts were not even hand tight. I have to assume this is by design and they expect you to tighten them.

3. You cannot tighten the nuts and bolts too much. As a matter of fact, there are two bolts in particular which should be replaced with half-inch longer ones. Reason being, the nylon portion of the lock nut is almost not engaged at all. If you tighten it to the point that the lock nut is doing its job, the mechanism will no longer slide easily.

4. There are extra grooves in the wood on the back if you have non-standard stud placement. It comes factory 32" center to center to span across two studs, and it does that perfectly.

5. The wood tops are nice. I accept the faults of the brackets at this price.

Thanks for the great deal!

They also have the 48" version that holds 500lb vs the 400lb at the same price.

The locking mechanism is a bit different though and doesn't have gas springs

Anyone have recommendations on some wall brackets to hold an already owned wooden top?

Was thinking of buying this but I have a perfectly good solid wood board that's like 5 ft

Good find, that tabletop is way thicker too (1.25" vs OPs at .75").

Great find! I got the 4' one. Was wanting to build one my own using the cheap bracket from Amazon. But that bracket plus my own time gluing and making my own top came out to be more expensive and time lost. $75 i'm willing to buy, mount it and be done! Rest of my time goes to fishing Stick Out Tongue

Thanks. It says it holds 300lbs. What's your experience with this so far? How big of a board did you use and how heavy was that board? I like the idea of attaching it to a workbench to have an extendable surface when needed

It might blow up still as that product was front page 4 days ago before selling out. Thread for reference:
