Grab moca adapter if you have coax nearby - you can get a pair of 2.5gbps rated frontier adapters on eBay for $65

As far as I know, the Asus AiMesh allows other Asus network devices to be added as nodes into the AiMesh network. I currently have a RT-AX3000 as my main node with 3 RT-AC68Us as mesh nodes. I'm going to try and swap out this setup with this 3-node ZenWifi and add the existing Asus devices as nodes. If that plan doesn't work, then I'll just return it.

Edit: I decided to pass on this coz it's only dual-band. The main reason that I wanted to replace my system is to remove the powerlines that I use for the Mesh setup. Powerlines limit the bandwidth significantly but still prefer it since the wired connection is stable. I will hold out for a Tri-Band setup instead.

I've been rocking an old-school google wifi router (just a single node) for almost 7 years now and it's been surprisingly great and pretty much covers my whole 4000sqft house. Trying to decide if it's finally time to upgrade.

Exact same setup here. Rock solid. Must have merlin capability.

Definitely. Another reason for the reluctance to improve what already works. However, I know I'm not getting full throughput due to the powerlines. But they are stable and no issues.

Does this act as a router or are they satellite extensions that require connection to a ASUS router?

Was upgrading my Nighthawk R6700 due to signal issues. Just bought this from Amazon the other day (TP-Link AX5400 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX72 Pro) - Multi Gigabit Wireless Internet Router, 1 x 2.5 Gbps Port).

Which one would you go with?

Yes this is a router or you can use them to extend your existing network as mesh access points.

I've had this system for years now and it's been amazing, no issues with it and I never dreamed I could have such a good WiFi network. It covers inside my 5150 SF house perfectly, and even covers about 5 acres outside my house through dense woods.
I can confirm.

I use his internet because it reaches all the way to me.

Very reliable as well.

And free. Can't beat that.

5 acres is an enormous amount of coverage. What are the speeds outside?

I've never understood the point of mesh....you have to physically put these across your house, which means drilling holes in the wall to hide the ethernet cables.

Uhh... only one of them needs to be wired (Ethernet).

They all do need power..so I guess that's a wire..

Currently have a Linksys below set up, it's by now, an older model--no WiFi 6. And seems to cause issues with smart speakers--doubt that that particular issue would get resolved with a different set up. Curious about suggestions on what others might have / recommend.
