I mean, regardless, it seems kinda dumb to sign up for any sort of "lifetime" deal when it comes to data transfer.

Fiber may be the best option for the next 5-10 years, sure, but then what? I've had dial-up, DSL, and cable internet over the past 30 years - if I was still using a "lifetime" subscription to any of those, I'd be lagging sorely behind the times.
You're not forbidden from changing providers for your lifetime …

Never sucked down a single torrent using AT&T.
You are doing something illegal; weather it be torrenting, streaming illegally acquired movies, etc. use a VPN and you'll never have this issue. I work in telecom and I'm high up in a major telecom company; this is why they do it. Sorry to hear it happened to you though.

Gee, that's helpful....πŸ€”

No torrenting, no streaming weird πŸ’©. Never used a VPN. They've never sent me any warnings, no notices, and no history of problems. Suddenly they tell me I have repeated violations, refuse to show me any evidence, refuse any dispute, reject any escalation, and told me verbatim "I'm looking at the data, so you'll have to take my word for it." No idea what you've seen in your role, but there's no way people can be expected to believe that caliber of πŸ‚ πŸ’© πŸ’© πŸ’©.

Never even visited a single prΓΆn site using that connection.

It's possible you are using more data then they would like so they are constructing a reason to terminate your service.
Also, just to be safe, may be worth changing your password and making sure the kids or some 3rd party isn't doing something shady on your wifi. I doubt that's the case though from the data you've given.
They actually will send notices forwarded from the MPAA that could have info like IP, date and time of incursion, even a file name of the forbidden file.

From my experience, ATT doesn't really care what you are doing, but if the MPAA is making things difficult for them, they can do the same to your account. This sounds like ulterior motives though. I've seen in other posts where people have googled corporate email addresses and were able to get things done that way. Worked for me in the past.

Good luck!

What's wrong with Xfinity? I have that service in another home and it's been great. 300 Mbps for $30/month. Wish that was available here.
My Xfinity disconnected for several minutes everyday after a full day maintenance. I have asked the customer agent to fix but still hit it everyday.

If you find out let me know. I was lied to multiple times that my rewards card should have been sent via email then by snail mail for a month, never got anything. Then after that they said I missed the redemption period and was SOL.
I went to search for emails again because another user shared what the email title said. Nope havent received any email. I wonder if it was sent to spam and got deleted after so long? Anyways I called the CS today and got told the same thing. I'm going to keep trying and see if I can get someone higher to credit me at least.

I chatted with loyalty, best I could get was $5 off for 12 months. I'm currently paying about $75 on my 1G plan. They said I was not eligible for the $20 bundle because I'm not the primary account holder of the wireless plan. I am on a family plan but a different family member is the account holder. The $5 off was for my grandfathered plan, if I switch to straight forward pricing I'd be at $80 so it wouldn't make sense since its more. The only benefit is straight forward pricing is fixed and would not have price increases supposedly and she offered a $100 GC to offset it.

I am pretty much in the same boat. I called retention line yesterday and was told that the name on the primary account of the wireless line doesn't need to match the name on the internet service but the billing address for both must match. I went into the account for both and made it match and changed my wireless line address to match my internet billing address. With that, I am waiting for a call back from the retention officer that I spoke to yesterday to further evaluate the situation after the changes have taken affect. I am expecting a call back tomorrow afternoon, let's see how it goes - will update as soon as I can.

Just to add to this. I've done the gift card deal a couple of times and every time I get scam emails that look legit asking for my gift card numbers to give me extra bonuses. I fell for it the first time because I'm a dumbass, called the scammers and got into a shouting match because they were like try getting your money back bitch. Second time I just farked with them a bunch until they stopped answering my calls.

Word of advice: be suspicious after you receive your gift cards. Att's customer list must be hacked or something. Happened to me every single time I took advantage of this deal. Side note: I've gotten the gift cards every time fwiw
wait how do you get the gift card offer every time ? isnt it only for the first time ?

So far I've gotten it 3 times. Just cancel after and do it again like a year later
