Fiber may be the best option for the next 5-10 years, sure, but then what? I've had dial-up, DSL, and cable internet over the past 30 years - if I was still using a "lifetime" subscription to any of those, I'd be lagging sorely behind the times.
No torrenting, no streaming weird π©. Never used a VPN. They've never sent me any warnings, no notices, and no history of problems. Suddenly they tell me I have repeated violations, refuse to show me any evidence, refuse any dispute, reject any escalation, and told me verbatim "I'm looking at the data, so you'll have to take my word for it." No idea what you've seen in your role, but there's no way people can be expected to believe that caliber of π π© π© π©.
Never even visited a single prΓΆn site using that connection.

Also, just to be safe, may be worth changing your password and making sure the kids or some 3rd party isn't doing something shady on your wifi. I doubt that's the case though from the data you've given.
They actually will send notices forwarded from the MPAA that could have info like IP, date and time of incursion, even a file name of the forbidden file.
From my experience, ATT doesn't really care what you are doing, but if the MPAA is making things difficult for them, they can do the same to your account. This sounds like ulterior motives though. I've seen in other posts where people have googled corporate email addresses and were able to get things done that way. Worked for me in the past.
Good luck!
Word of advice: be suspicious after you receive your gift cards. Att's customer list must be hacked or something. Happened to me every single time I took advantage of this deal. Side note: I've gotten the gift cards every time fwiw
