About the product:
By encapsulating its fleecy yarns between layers of fabric, Polartec Power Air fleece warms more efficiently with less weight
Because the fleece is encapsulated, Power Air sheds up to 5x less microfiber into the environment than other premium mid-layer fabrics

The guy in the YouTube link you posted had good things to say and his only complaint was with the zipper, but it didn't stop him from wearing it everyday winter, spring and fall. He also said it is much more wind resistant than most fleece, which is a good thing. I ordered mine yesterday, so I will know for myself soon.

yep. Good luck. zippers are hard to fix on a trail. I will stay away

Even the guy in the link you posted said it was an easy fix, and in anything resembling extreme conditions this is going to be a mid-layer, so really not an issue. I have to wonder about that guys use of the jacket, since there is not one complaint about the zippers on the REI website. And if one broken zipper on the trail causes a serious problem for you, you went out unprepared.
They are meant to put your thumb through to pull the sleeve through a jacket when using the fleece as a midlayer. I never had a problem just grabbing the cuff, but I don't get bothered by it either. If they are sewn properly, who cares? You can see in the photo that when they are not used, the fabric overlaps and no hole is visible.
It isn't ruined. These holes and extra sleeve length are worth every penny. Are used to wear mine on college campus and when my hands would get freezing cold I could effortlessly let the sleeve come down a bit and put my thumb through that hole and the tops of my hands would warm up immediately. I have use these walking to work and 1 million other places. If you don't put your thumb in the hole the little slit just gets hidden in the rest of the clothing and no one will ever know it's even there. I love it.
