I saw in the Amazon reviews a mention about cracked PCBs on Gigabyte RTX 30xx and 40xx series GPUs. Is this something to be concerned about on this model?

Fair, but when the 7800xt is still $50 cheaper and 6800xt has been seen at stupid low prices this isn't really a deal

Also I highly doubt prices will rise come black Friday. Let's wait and see

And your comment is fair, also. But if one is going to buy a same-tier AMD card for less, they have to be willing to give up the raytracing and DLSS3 that the Nvidia cards have. Which is probaby why the AMD cards are selling for less in the first place.
And you're probably right - there'll be some GPU deals on BF, but I'd bet the number of cards offered will be depleted quickly on the higher-end 'deals'. Nothing like people camping out overnight at Bestbuy to grab an RTX 3080 several years ago, but still.

All these GPU cards cost 500 and more, u better off buying a PS5 or Xbox series instead.

Also, MicroCenter is a small-ish business they keeps other honest and they deserve to not be frauded at the gain of Amazon.
I agree, love microcenter, they always treated me great, will always prefer to purchase from them then anywhere else when it comes to PC parts.

After getting burned on a warranty claim for a motherboard, I am avoiding this brand.

7800xt beats it hands down for 1080p gaming, but 1440p with ray tracing is where the 4070 shines. I have a Radeon card now but will probably jump on a 4070 if it gets a little cheaper

Stupid question here - So I have an old I7 7700K. If I pair this GPU with it, I know it will obviously bottleneck and I won't get the most out of the card...BUT...approximately, how much of it's power will I be able to unlock? Like 30%? 40%? 70%?
With an "older" CPU like that, you'd be better off with AMD card even if it's lower end. Nvidia cards have driver overhead issues unless you have a newer CPU.

There are plenty of videos on this at youtube but here's one:

Yeah the location where the PCB attaches to theboard is 1.65mm thick and cracks eaisly. Go on youtube and you can see the review.

Quick question about the cracking on older boards: don't the cards have a bracket that attaches to the desktop case? Shouldn't that prevent the board from sagging and cracking? I see that the crack was on the total opposite end of the bracket so then it happened due to the weight on that end?

I upgraded from an intel x58 system (~ year 2010) with an X5675 CPU overclocked to 4.1 GHz, to the latest gen, z790 with 15-13600k, no overclock. With a 1070 Ti on each system, there was almost no difference in FurMark benchmark. I think I got literally 1 frame higher on the new system (44 vs 45 fps). Does this seem normal? Should I use a different benchmark software? It seems crazy that there was no difference.

I stick with 1080p and try to go for a good balance of power/heat vs. performance. The 4060 would be best for this, right?

They meant a physical support for the gpu I believe. But to expand on the assumed message, Gigabyte has a horrible support track record. I will never buy aorus/gigabyte again personally.

funny no one cares about GPUS anymore that crypto mining is dead
funny that now there is plenty of supply that they said there was a supply shortage?

better discount it by 50% for BF bois.
=D
Cause I finally scored a 3070 18 months ago at $630? After waiting like 2-3 years.

Ray tracing and dlss are definitely better on Nvidia.

But it's quite a bit closer in ray tracing then the 6 series. There's a few oddball games where it actually beats it in ray tracing and averages only about 10% slower overall with ray tracing. Fsr 2.2 is pretty great in a few games especially at 4k but still has issues but supposedly fsr 3 is pretty good and there's specific ai upscaling coming to just the 7 series, but hold your breath lol.

Overall tho, I was seeing a pretty significant difference in 1% lows between the 2 cards at 4k, often in the 10-20% plus range.

If your target is 4k (high, not ultra) gaming in the 60 plus fps range, the 7800 XT is pretty compelling and easily wins that category now as things stand. And has supposed future improvements to look forward to. You shouldn't buy a product for future promises but it's currently winning that category anyways, so I don't see the problem in this case.
