Is it just me, or does it seem like a bad idea to have hiking boots with tunnel holes through the soles? I would expect rocks, mud, and small sticks to find their way inside?

The older models had more of an issue with the center channel on the bottom more than anything. Looks like they added a filler.

My gf's on cloud shoes can't even be worn off road because they collect pebbles with every step.

Yup they're regular shoes with similar sole picks up quarter stones

I wouldn't buy these for hiking. I plan on using them around Chicago basically to avoid light slush, but still be good for wearing inside. They look nice.

100% I have the running shoes, and any time you even walk through a gravel parking lot, you end up with rocks stuck in your shoes. Kills your floors too if you don't take off your shoes.
