Old school thinking. Modern suits of Polyester are fine for most occasions. Sure, a high end wool will be better, but not to the extend presented here. For the cost, this will do just fine for occasional wear. Daily, invest a little more. But there is more in these than just "grandma died".

Even with the synthetic materials and low class notch lapel, you'll look a million times better in this tux, properly altered, than anything from rental. And your next wear will be free!

Fit and finish is all over the place.

INC is good quality for a poly blazer, their fit is muscular/silm. $20-40. I have 2 of their blazers for 5 years, it still looks new.

Kenneth Cole is weird half the time, horrible slim fit boxy, laughable quality . I return 2 of there suits.

Van Heusen/IZOD/ Nautica is ok
If you check the Macy's website they have many Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, and Tommy Hilfiger wool suit jackets for $100. Of course they are going to be fully fused and not very high quality. Still better than one of those cheap polyester suits.

I bought a $100 suit on Amazon for a wedding I didn't want to be at. I looked like a million $. These are fine for occasional use, youth, etc. Not daily wear if you need to dress to impress.

Poly are worth $20-40, good for weekly wear and warm climate.

Wool worth the $100-300 for daily wear and cold climate.

I prefer wearing the poly even though i have tailor high quality $$$$ wool suits.
certain poly blazers and pants are extremely breathable which is my need.
If it gets lost or damage no big deal.

The snob on this thread is disgusting. Most everyday people can get one of these and feel perfectly fine about it. I have two IZOD suits that I've worn for years from these sales and they're just fine. If you want an expensive suit just to have an expensive suit, be my guest. But there are a lot of childish responses that I'm afraid people are taking seriously.

Every single time they post this, pants are 6-7" drop, which is nonsense honestly. It's weight discrimination I tell you! So I wonder if you can buy 2 pairs and return the mix of pant and jacket, because in store they don't mind if you buy different sizes they are sold as set but seperately. (not every suit)
that's standard...don't blame Macy's...don't like it, buy them separately.

There certainly is. These are good for the funerals of any number of relatives, coworkers and acquaintances you don't really know well. Wink

My problem is first time shopping for a new suit since COVID is that none of my regular stores have Tailoring in store any longer.. That leaves me trying to find the perfect fit 😂 .. That's not happening... That leaves finding someplace with reasonable prices and Tailoring.. I've spent hours at Macy's going through the racks for a suit jacket that was Perfect... Nope..weird size I guess

Realistically I'll wear this probably once or twice if I go to a wedding or funeral. Better to have for now than scramble last minute trying to find one. I did buy the haggar jcpenny one for $70 after tax, shipping. But the pants bottom area are ridiculously wide despite being tailored fit. I'll have these nautica pants adjusted since it'll be likely 2 inches too long. I last wore a suit back in December 2021 for a wedding, unfortunately it doesn't currently fit lol.

you'll look like you dropped at least $100 on a suit
These suits are cheap, but they're not just for 'kids' who need a suit. They're also for adults who don't need to wear a suit very often or for very long. 99.9% of people can't tell the difference between a $10,000 suit and a $100 suit. A lot of people are just looking for a professional looking suit that they can wear once or twice a year.

If you can handle a suit that has poor breathability once or twice a year and only for a couple hours, you can deal with Polyester suits.... On the other hand, if you want a breathable suit and wear it often or wear it all day, buy a better suit.

I have to get "athletic" fit to get anything not boxy and I am far from what one would call athletic.

Yea I wear a suit maybe half a dozen times a year. These are the suits I have and they are fine. I'd rather try on then order online and hope for the best though. Suit fit can be finicky.
