My Sony wireless headphones, purchased brand new in May 2017, are still going strong. Replaced the battery and the ear cushions for $25. The battery swap was easy. I think I can get a couple more years out of them.
There's little reason to catch upgraditis with wireless headphones. Sound quality improvements between generations are minimal if nonexistent. The 1st Gen Sony headphones released in 2016, the ones I use, are fully LDAC compatible.

Quite a few reports in the previous SD post from people who received headphones with defects in sound and noise cancellation that in some cases only surfaces after the return period passed. Buying new is smarter.
