Well, to be fair, I didn't jump on the deck when it came out. I did pick up an ally, so that'll tide me over. My backlog is 3-4 lifetimes…. Maybe longer since I just got an Anbernic rg35xx….
How do you like your ally? I've heard nothing but bad things.

Which means the tech is three years old. Takes time to design, test, and manufacture the product. This space is going to start to move quickly with lots of players jumping in.
Well imagine that, the 2024 cars people are buying these days are 4 years old

Can't compare it to a deck since I don't have one, but I do like it. I've had no issues with the sd card, when unplugged I usually have it on 15 watts (performance mode) and battery usually lasts 2-3hrs depending on the game. Since I've got steam, epic, Microsoft /Xbox play anywhere titles, I've got all options that I need. Haven't done retrogaming but it should handle that np.

I used it for 2 weeks (while holding on to it for my brother). I loved it. Initial install was a pain but after that, it's really cool

I was using the same logic the guy I was replying to was using. If you're going to claim this is 3-year old technology because the time it takes to design, test and manufacture all parts and components then you can say the same about every possible product in the market

I got the mid grade one and spent an extra $20 to triple the storage and didn't have to open it up. But to each their own

The mid-range comes with 256GB. If you added a 256GB SD card, you would double your storage. If you added, instead, a 512GB SD card, you would triple your storage. If you can find a 512GB SD card for around $20, his claim is essentially true.
