The fine print says minimum qualified plan is 75/mo. That's where they get you with these "free deals" - locking you in at high monthly rate for 3 yrs.

Quick math assuming you are ok with Visible/Mint at $30/mo - overpaying by $45/mo for 36=$1620, that's what you are paying for the "free iphone".

If you live in an area which has good coverage then better buy an unlocked phone and get a carrier of your choice than getting robbed by these guys for 36 months.
I have an unlocked phone & pay $20 per month for service. Can't be happier.

Is a trade in required for the deal with a new line or porting from another carrier?

Bill credits is basically a contract. I also buy my phones outright and have saved tons of money in the past 5 years, but I'm also someone who changes phones every year. I can usually get a good trade-in for the previous model so an upgrade only costs about $100 each year. Like you, I pay about $20 per month on service, but I also don't use much mobile data since I'm always around wifi. If you stick with the same phone or carrier, bill credits could be a great option.

I don't know why everyone rips on those of us who have the post-paid Unlimited plan service. Been with ATT for 15+ years, service is great in my large metropolitan city, and superior to Verizon's & T-Mobile's current service here. I use my phone off wifi quite frequently, especially for work. My service plan includes a corporate discount. I don't plan on switching to Verizon or T-Mobile, unless they came along with some kind of substantial service in my area.

Sure I'd love to upgrade the phone sooner than every three years, but most of the enhancements from year to year with the iPhone are minor, so its not a big deal. What I do like is getting a new phone for free every three years due to the bill credit subsidy that the major carriers provide.

just go ahead cancel and place a new order. There is no way that ATT will help you with it

probably will charge you the "restocking Fee" if you can't cancel it before it get to your house. might be worth a call to get it resolved
can't be cancelled, but i was able to get the activation fee waived, better than nothing i guess

Please someone confirm that the trade in could be done in store because Costco kiosk is no longer Wireless Advocates instead it is the actual AT&T and the people who works there I believe are AT&T employees.
I had a worker at the Strongsville Ohio store that was going to process the trade ins.

I am in AT&T purgatory. No amount of escalation or talking to retentions has been able to get phone into upgradable status. I am losing my mind on this one. I have never seen sales prevention at this level.
Do you still owe money on it?

Just in time for iPhone 15 upgrades/purchases. AT&T has deals with costco when you buy or upgrade to iphone 15. I was able to get the activation fees waived and the order confirmation stated the $100 gift card would be sent after 60 days. There's also a mention that $50 would be applied to your account after a certain amount of days.

I did a similar deal at Costco earlier this year. Trade in any Samsung Galaxy S series, working or not, and get the Ultra 23 for free with 36 monthly credits. Signed up for 4 lines and sent in 4 working phones. It has been a nightmare, with only 1 line consistently getting the monthly credit, and me having to call and get adjustments on every single bill because they don't credit the other lines. The trade-ins were sent in and acknowledged as acceptable trade ins. This has wasted probably an hour a month since March. I regret leaving Verizon, which, while a little more expensive, has never given me billing issues. I also get better reception with Verizon in my area.

Is this $75 total or $75/line?

Can you bring your trade in to a AT&T store or Costco AT&T kiosk? Or does the trade in have to be shipped?

It's almost like the company has a customer service line for these type of questions or something.

Legit question why the sarcasm? That's the whole point in having a forum like this to ask other users who might have answers to your question.

Customer service line/chats currently have long wait times. I waited on the phone just now for an hour and had to give up.

Also many people are concerned about shipping in their phone due to many horror stories about the receiving company claiming the phone is not in adequate condition or the phone is lost in transit. So bringing in the phone to a local store ensures you get full value for the trade in.

Does ATT accept carrier locked phones for trade in? I got the $140 metro deal for a galaxy se 21fe but I'm not clear if it being carrier locked will deny the trade in.
