The fine print says minimum qualified plan is 75/mo. That's where they get you with these "free deals" - locking you in at high monthly rate for 3 yrs.

Quick math assuming you are ok with Visible/Mint at $30/mo - overpaying by $45/mo for 36=$1620, that's what you are paying for the "free iphone".

If you live in an area which has good coverage then better buy an unlocked phone and get a carrier of your choice than getting robbed by these guys for 36 months.
I have an unlocked phone & pay $20 per month for service. Can't be happier.

I know this is the AT&T thread but seeing TMo mentioned. Are there details of the Costco/TMo/iPhone 15 deals somewhere?
Only for their most expensive plans can you get the $830-1000 trade in

Based on the information provided by the local corporate store, you can take the trade in device to any ATT Corporate owned store.

Legit question why the sarcasm? That's the whole point in having a forum like this to ask other users who might have answers to your question.

Customer service line/chats currently have long wait times. I waited on the phone just now for an hour and had to give up.

Also many people are concerned about shipping in their phone due to many horror stories about the receiving company claiming the phone is not in adequate condition or the phone is lost in transit. So bringing in the phone to a local store ensures you get full value for the trade in.
Not to mention the people on this forum and others are 100x more knowledgeable than your average customer service rep and not restricted by corporate talking points. I would trust some rando username on here way more than an AT&T call center rep.

Ended up being a good deal for me. Had 5 lines with iPhone 12s at Verizon, brought them over for 15s on the Unlimited Premium, added two lines on 14 Pros. Seven lines total with their best unlimited service for $235 before fees and taxes. And $700 coming in Costco gift cards. Recommend talking with the folks directly at AT&T and not the affiliate kiosk people in club...my AT&T guy emailed me quotes transparently, answered about a dozen one-off questions via email and at odd hours, and took his time getting me set up. I was uncertain about AT&T's coverage in my area, so I used the tryCricket app for free for a few days to get an eSIM to validate its viability (and the Premium should be more dedicated).

Never ever being fooled by any of the free phone upgrade. If you are not good at math, at least you know any telephone company especially the big 3 will always always overcharge you by a lot over buying an unlocked phone yourself on those 'deals'. Just like casinos always win when you offer you free drink but a minimum buy-in and hands to play.

How did you get this deal done with AT&T directly that gives you Costco gift cards? I thought this could only be done via Costco site or reps.

I just talked to an AT&T rep and told him I was looking at the Costco offer. I eventually had to provide my membership ID to link the order.

YMMV: I was able to go into Sam's Club and they beat this deal by $260 for 5 lines. Instead of gift cards they turned the whole amount into bill credits at $7/line/month over 36 months ($7 * 5 lines * 36 months = $1,260).

Never say never as it it depends on each individual case. If you have 5 lines, you get steep discounts + $10/month/line autopay discount adds up. Lastly if you qualify for any of the service member/first responder discounts you get substantial discounts. I'm looking at $26.25/line unlimited everything plus $7/line bill credit for 36 months and new phones. Effectively, i'm paying <$20/line with free phones. Even without the 25% discount here that's $35/line.

A new phone, with my iphone 12 trade in, would cost me $350-$950 depending on which phone i get plus my monthly $25 service charge from US Mobile or Visible. Just the service charge alone is more expensive and then split the cost of the phone over 36 months effectively puts me between $35 - $50.

I'm looking at the iPhone 14 deals. AT&T's website has it at $15/mo. with $10 bill credits over 36 mo. ($360 savings total). The Costco deal maxes out at $150 ($5 bill credit for 10 mo. + 100 Costco GC for $150 in savings). Checking out via your Costco account linked up looks like you end up with the $25.00/mo. retail cost of the phone. I tried checking out without the Costco link up and it reflects the $15.00 /mo. AT&T deal. What gives? Will the Costco discount stack on top of AT&T's $15/mo. deal or are they mutually exclusive? The AT&T direct is a much better deal. Thanks for the help.

Can you bring your trade in to a AT&T store or Costco AT&T kiosk? Or does the trade in have to be shipped?
When you buy via ATT's website, you can pick your trade in option, and "bring it to the store" is one of the options (within 30 days of receipt of new phone).

Is this $75 total or $75/line?
Looks like it's $75/line for 1 line, before autopay/paperless discount (65$ after the discounts), but might be some additional taxes on top of that.

This option didn't show for me, but I'm going to try and do this anyway.
