And does this mean 36-months "contract" is actually 39months? In order to get all the discounts?
It's only 36 credits, not 39. The first one will be bigger.

I had to call to get them to apply the retroactive credits on my 4th bill years ago when I got an iPhone 8 for free, but they fixed it for me.

Side note - I had configured my cart multiple times and I'm just panicking that I somehow didn't use the Costco link when I placed the order. I had a credit freeze that prevented the first purchase go through.
One more comment that I'd like to make, in hopes someone finds it helpful. I went to the AT&T kiosk at Costco and was told that going from Cricket to AT&T would force me to get new phone numbers. I then went home and worked with AT&T customer service through Chat and was told the same thing. Eventually, I just placed the order online and it gave me an option to port from Cricket. I'm hoping the AT&T employees were just not up-to-speed on their own process.
Only need to tell the csr at costco which phone you are trading in. I didnt need the IMEI /SN , both phones should arrive in a few days.
Does the att phone come with a return box & label for the trade in?
