Slightly better version of Walmart but, as soon as you deal with their customer service you would feel you're in Walmart.

They are saying it's going to be $19.99 for a 1 year membership (regular not Plus) and on top of that you get $10 off your first in-store purchase which effectively makes it $9.99 for the 1 year membership (regular not Plus).

Not sure if it will stack, or if anyone has tried it already, but some cash back site offers up to 15% back and I also have a 5% back on Sam's Club memberships on my US Bank Cash Plus card. I would imagine you need to activate the cashback and then redirect to the promo page to have a chance of it working.

Got the same deal last 2 years but never even walked into a B&M to buy anything because the closest one to my home is 50 miles. Only used the $10 off on Walmart. Too cheap to pay for the Plus membership so I can buy and get stuff shipped. I will probably get it again lol
you could be my neighbor. i am 50 mi between the 2 samsclubs as well.

can we upgrade to plus and pay the difference?

By assist you mean check your I.D. to make sure you're really you? Costco can suck it. Once a store starts treating me like a criminal I'm done. I have always preferred Sam's Club myself and the scan and go works so well. Scan as you go and pay and get a QR scanned at the door. It's much quicker than Costco and the products are similar and Sam's typically is cheaper.
i am glad that at least they got rid of 1 bad apple. they treated you like a criminal for a reason. hopefully sams didnt lose too much from a customer like you, especially open up the scan and go benefit to you who could have taken advantage of the system way worse than costco asking you for the memebership id that you didnt even have.

there isn't enough farm land or dairy cows in the country to sustain some false utopia you have in your mind. Have you seen the population of LA, NY, Houston, Dallas, etc No way society going to live in organic alone and pay prices people can afford. Sure, avoid corn syrup and salty snacks etc, but don't spread this falsehood of "grandpa's time" when they invented all this crap and lived in the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. Food is a lot better (safer and more variety) now than it ever been, but just choose the better stuff. Don't need "organic" (a term that is largely unregulated) to be healthy
Chill out buddy don't give yourself a heart attack.

Gasoline is a very good solvent. Those crap VW cars with direct injection have massive amount of deposit at the intake valves due to the lack of gasoline coming from the intake manifold. The use of Top Tier gas can't fix a design problem. Toyota uses a combination of direct injection and port injection to minimize intake valve deposit.

All gasoline sold in the US are required by federal law to have detergent additive. Top tier gas will have more detergent. My 1986 Mazda 626 with 189K miles uses Sammy's gas. Borescope inspection shows no anomaly at the intake valves and injectors. The key is to use fresh fuel. Sammy's tanks are refilled 2-4x each day.

Drive at highway speed for 1 hour to optimize system performance. I don't buy the marketing story about non-Top Tier gas leaving chunk of deposit on the valve after 4000 miles. A well designed engine should not rely on top tier gas to stay clean. None of these Top Tier gas have published how much more detergent added to the fuel.

Pay attention to the PCV system since it has the most influence on how much dirty oil is injected back into the combustion chamber.
I go back to how exploitative Walmart and Sam's Club are with their employees, (I mean they limit "full-time" employees to 32 hours a week to avoid having to offer them insurance, FFS) if they're willing to exploit their biggest resource to line their pockets, what does that say about anything else they might be able to cut costs on? I personally don't care to feed that machine, but that's just me. I remember not getting to go to the bathroom for 6-8 hours straight. I'll find other ways to save.

t's interesting how some folks don't seem to raise much of a fuss when they had to go through airport security and essentially strip down in front of TSA agents as part of the security protocol. They didn't complain about being treated worse than prisoners, did they?
On another note, Costco has made it abundantly clear that they conducted data analysis and discovered that the number of people using their services exceeds the combined count of actual members and their families. This essentially means that many non-members are taking advantage of Costco's offerings. Costco has also explained that they can maintain competitive pricing through various strategies, one of which involves charging membership fees.
However, it appears that some individuals aren't entirely forthcoming about this situation, they don't want to be honest or angry because of the check.
BTW, Costco at least in our local area stop checking that.

Indeed, gasoline is subject to regulations, but it's important to note that not all gasoline is created equal. Here's an article that goes into detail about the differences. between Costco and Sam's Club. BTW, Sam's Club didn't respond to their questions meaning they are not selling top-tier gas for sure.

Once you're a regular member you can pay up the difference between the standard membership price (not what you paid) and the plus membership price to upgrade.
