They pay their employees better!
Employees stay way longer, they almost never quit. My friends and family who work there, have been there over 10, 15 years.
I applied once but had to start at the bottom, doing shopping cart duty. But once you get past that phase, it's better. I didn't have the patience to wait.
Benefits are incredible! Their stock option plans are now worth $350,000 to $600,000+
I doubt any floor worker at Sam's has that much in Walmart stock.
This is why Costco service >>> Sam's service. The employees have skin in the game.
My guess is that if you kept the receipt, it would but otherwise, the record of your purchase is lost?
Walmart's approach is to at the exit make people feel like they stole something by checking receipts and blocking the exit. (not legal..unlike a club).
Walking into a Walmart is like walking into a Goodwill store.

$20 to plug a tire! We ended up paying it because our time was worth more than trying to schedule the repair. We have been frustrated with Discount Tire due to their new tread wear measurement but they have far superior post-purchase tire support and will be going back to them for our tire purchases in the future.

We compared our previous years Discover card statements from our grocery trips to Walmart, to our 1 year of shopping at Sams club. We also saved a lot of money on pet meds, as Sams Club gives a larger percentage off on pet meds with the Plus membership. Our dog has kidney and heart problems, so she uses $140 in medicine each month that we were buying from the vet. Switching to Sams for her meds and now it only costs us $129 and change. That was a savings of $10 a month, or $120 a year. Just the savings on pet meds themselves, paid for the membership.
I won't even talk about Sam's Ginormous rotisserie chickens for only $4.98, lol. No comment on how many of those my wife buys a year.
Also with plus membership, we get cash back and it really adds up if your spending thousands a year on groceries, toiletries, meds, etc. Not to mention, the scan and go allows us to never have to stand in a check out line! I absolutely love that feature as I just walk past the registers that are 5 people deep each, lol.
