I need the waterproofing, so these are great. And for me, the best part has always been how comfortable they are right out of the box. It seems like I've never even had to break them in. When I get a new pair, I just put them on and they are super comfortable from minute 1.

I live in snow country and I prefer Muck Boots that go high up the calf and have neoprene at the top as a gaitor to keep snow out.
If they're knock offs they're very good.
You got no clue what you are talking about. These are not high volume or high margin items for someone to make knockoffs.
Your right, no clue. Merrell warns of counterfeit product from unauthorized sellers... Which this company is. Quick search of court records and they are being sued as we speak in New Jersey for counterfeit products. You do you. I deal with Chinese companies. They make your product and many back door knock offs that go to third world countries... Some find there way back to our shores.
If they're knock offs they're very good.

Ok thanks
I bought them for a 5-day backpacking trip through Yellowstone.
Wore them all week without any break-in and they were great IMO. Really comfortable, no issues, and held up great. Didn't seem to have any problems with the rain we got and the resulting puddles I had to walk through.
Merrells on the other hand, run perfectly true to size, in my experience. They make high quality shoes, and I wouldn't assume something from another brand is equivalent just because they look similar. I mean, a Nissan Sentra is a sedan, but that doesn't mean it's as good as a BMW M5 because they're both sedans. I gambled on a pair of "waterproof" Nortiv8 hikers from Amazon. Yes, that's a brand. They looked pretty nice but were uncomfortable, didn't breathe, leaked like a sieve when new, and the soles started to separate within 2 months. I've been a Merrell fan since I replaced those.
I had a pair of Moab 2s for work a few years back. When those wore out I gambled on the Nortiv 8s during prime day or something because they were so cheap. I honestly got pretty good mileage out of them and didn't hate them. My job is especially hard on my boots, but I opt for hiking style for comfort. All that said, the Merrell's are certainly better than their knockoffs.
I passe don this deal but will probably grab another pair the next time I see some version of waterproof Moabs on sale. Last year's pair are still okay but I want to make sure I'm covered through the winter. I operate a small bread distribution company, so I know what you mean about being tough on boots. When I got into this, I noticed that a lot of guys in various delivery and distribution jobs wear Merrell. The Keens I wore before were fine too, but there's a reason folks in DSD wear Merrell. Keen seems to be the number two brand, and they have some great options if you need safety toes or slip resistance ratings, which I can do without.

Your chat is kinda confusing.
I also had to return and buy a 1/2 size higher.

among other things, the goretex version is also 65 grams lighter, apparently
