I picked this up when it was this price last month. Felt a bit too good to be true, and it sort of is. These tools definitely aren't the same tools/quality as the same Husky tools if purchased individually. The case doesn't lend a lot of confidence either (sometimes a tool or two will have dislodged from normal movement). Having said that, it still has a Husky lifetime warranty and is pretty decent for $35. I compared it to reasonably comparable offerings from Walmart and Harbor Freight and I'd say overall this one is the better choice, and yes, it should absolutely stand up to most homeowner use. At this price it seems like it would be an awesome gift for new homeowners who may want to handle a few things on their own.
you are right, it isn't like a regular husky level. every detail looks so cheap and actually not that great in quality. but worth $35 for new DIYer who doesn't have any tool set

I'm surprised with the comments. I ordered 2 of these and I thought the quality of the tools are great. I've bought the Walmart tool kits before and these are much better quality. My only gripe is that the headlight came broken, where the clip that closes the battery cover is poorly designed. A piece of electric tape can solve that and the led light is actually pretty nice too. I say if your on the fence, go for it. For the same price you will likely not find as nice quality set.
Almost all of these homemaker's tool sets are bottom of the barrel, but it's hard sell to convince people they'd be better off buying a $20 Denali bag from one of the Woot deals and going to Harbor Freight, Walmart, or Amazon and piecing a kit together for triple the cost.
There's not really anything a whole lot better that can be offered if a person says $35 is my budget for everything, so it's still a deal of sorts.
don't knock on Harbor freight. their icon brand makes some amazing stuff. they're making snap on fanboys nerd rage by making tools just as good at 1/4 the price. don't take my word for it. there are like 50 youtube videos of these wrenches getting tested on snap on's own calibration hardware where icon comes out on top.
i have a snap on torque wrench myself and i really wish i bought the icon instead. lol

It comes with a kneepad. I'm married, with children, so that's a throwaway!
