Yes, looks like it's pretty hit and miss on the quality control for this model. Either you get an excellent mouse or a worthless one.

I have three of these for a while now, one for my gaming rig, another for work, and my son uses one for gaming. Have yet to see this switch issue. Each were bought at different times.

Thinking on taking advantage of this deal for a spare.

Isn't this the one which has faulty switches that need to be replaced?

EDIT: My post below is irrelevant and uninformed. One of the issues I had with my purchase from Amazon was that it was a brand new device I had purchased (or was supposed to be) and instead they sent me one where the package had been torn open and the mouse briefly used (happening a lot with Amazon lately), so there was no documentation with it. I didn't realize that there was associated software, so just downloaded it and set it up accordingly.

------

Bought this not long ago to replace my prior gaming mouse. I have to say, I'm not at all a fan of it but my prior one is no longer sold.

If you're using it for games, photo editing, etc. there is no precision-oriented button that drops the DPI to significantly low numbers. And of the 9 settings you can click through for different DPI, your options are basically "fast, blazing fast, or ludicrous speed." The wheel is also a bit of a PITA.

All in all, this is probably the worst mouse I've owned in some time now. Great if you only need your cursor/aim to whip around the screen at lightning speed. Anything less than that and it is rather useless.

You sure you can't change those DPI settings in the G software? I've done that for my logitech mice in the past.

I'm on year 5 or 6 of my 502 Hero. Outlasted the warranty period which is something no Logitech mouse has done in my years owning them. I still stick with them for their headache free warranty service though.

Mouse is wildly popular for a reason. I just wish they'd fix their horrific attempt at software. It was fine years ago and has gotten progressively more bloated and buggy as the years have gone on.

Boy. So many hardware companies continue to churn out bloated, clunky software.

Are you referring to Logitech Gaming Software or G-Hub?
LGS is on lifesupport, yes. But G-Hub is truly terrible to use.
I bought the wireless version (G502 Lightspeed) only to find out I was forced to G-Hub and I hate myself for it.
I've owned 3 G502s and my only gripe is that the switches tend to fail. All 3 developed some type of issue shortly after the warranty expired. That said, I still rather own a wired one due to how much better LGS is compared to the G-Hub. It really is that bad.

After around 6 years of owning/using a G502 as my primary mouse, the main left click switch started registering double clicks occasionally and when click/holding it would prematurely 'release'.. I popped it open and cleaned the contacts of the switch and that did the trick.

That was ~3 years ago and this mouse is now going on 9 yrs old. I'm tempted to pick up another as a spare, but I've also got a MX Master 2S.

Uhhhh, you can literally set the DPI to anything you want, including "slower than a snail-aka speed of dried snot" if you want

Can random moving on screen and clicking easily programmable in this? Is special software needed? Ps: no physical button press needed hopefully.

Had 3 of these now. First two had the double click issue show up within a year. They replaced both under warrantee pretty painlessly. This third one has been going strong for the 3rd year now with no problems. Otherwise I love it. Hit or miss quality I guess, but their warrantee service has been good.
