Not the same device. This is a monitor and NOT a TV. Look at the pictures of the back. I have this monitor and love it as you can display 4 separate devices at the same time. Ive had it for close to 3x years now. Code does work making it $400. I would buy it again.

I've used the predecessor of this monitor (LG 43UD79-B) since 2017. The USB-C supports DP-alt mode over Thunderbolt with the right cable. Monitor volume can also be controlled over USB-C/Thunderbolt on a Mac with add-on software that supports CEC… something like SoundSource or eqMac or soundflower, etc. Just a couple of tips for any Mac users that give this monitor a go.

Looks like a decent deal for a large productivity monitor with -60w USB-C. Shame it has such a low refresh rate and high response time.

Bought last year(In Sept, coincidentally) for the same price and really happy. PIP is a killer feature when paired with software like Logitech Flow or Synergy where you can use one set of keyboard/mouse to control two device like one. It felt kinda big and awkward at first but once you get hang of windows management and shortcuts (Magnet for MacOS, Powertoys for Windows), it'll be great. Highly recommend.

There are 4 inputs, but only two offer 4k/60FPS unfortunately the other two are 4k/30fps. Kinda lame.

So this model is 3+ years old? I briefly tried to use a 43" Hisense A6H 4k TV as a monitor but I wasn't too impressed with it. Per Rtings the Hisense A6H is their budget pick for a 43" 4K TV to be use as a monitor. I noticed a ton on swirl marks on any light colored content (almost looked like huge finger prints) but some call it the moire effect. When I googled the issue I found lots of folks had the same issue with that A6H in both the 43" and 50" sizes.

It looks like LG has a new 43" display that's called a smart monitor:

https://www.amazon.com/LG-43SQ700...1N7S5?th=1 [amazon.com]

I'm sure either one of these would work much better for me but they are at least 2x the cost of the 43" A6H I had purchased and returned. Not sure if I want to take another crack at the 43" size or just stick to using my trusty old 32" QHD HP 32 Envy
looks like it only has two video inputs..so no pip

yeah it's pretty old and the recent reviews for it are not good concerning it's longevity, lots of early monitor deaths.

Yes that's what gives me pause about giving this a go at $400. I guess these 43" 4K monitors just don't garner much fanfare as this model is ancient and there doesn't seem to be many new entrants in the 43" space outside of these smart monitor variants (Samsung M7, etc).

Honestly I might just look to upgrade my 32" 1440P HP ENVY 32 at some point and add an additional 24" or 27" 1080P monitor off to side for overflow. I don't game just office and productivity stuff. Maybe I need to look into a nice 32" Dell 1440P IPS monitor - at least that comes with a 3 year warrantySmilie

I currently use my laptop with a 24inch monitor at home for productivity work and a dual monitor foldout for work on the go with the laptop. One big monitor seems great for freeing up desk space and leaving the laptop closed, I'm wondering if I would have neck pain from scanning up and down with my head since these monitors are tall. The prettier LG you linked up top looks nice though.

Yes I like the fact that the 43" LG smart monitor just came out this year but really that doesn't mean it's any better, lol. I believe it too only has a 1 year warranty. Like I mentioned before at least with Dell monitors (not sure if it's all Dell monitors) they have (3) year warranties. The 43" Dell 4K monitor is gorgeous but a little rich for my bloodSmilie

Has anyone here tried using an LG or Samsung 43' 4k tv as a monitor instead? That would cost around $300 or so which would be $200 cheaper than this.

I always heard you shouldn't use a TV as a monitor since it is a TV. But as long as the TV has that setting for you to change the text to not make it blurry... anyone know the name of it? Then you could use a TV as a monitor?

So wouldn't the only difference between a 43' 4k tv compared to a 43' 4k monitor is you power it on with a remote or something?

Good monitor back to pandemic. I need to get rid off for low resolution... Good concept! Practical for WFH for multiple jobs at a time

You can, there are some TVs that have better capabilities than others, how black is displayed, etc. I've been doing it for years, 40" $200 tv pre pandemic inflation.

You miss out on computer specific inputs like USB-c and mine doesn't have a wake on over HDMI so I have to turn the monitor on and off with the remote. Same with switching inputs. But at some point, a panel is just a panel.
