Same company/manufacturer, different product tier.

The circular saw is the only tool I have from Ryobi that I am not actually a fan of. Blade tends to get stuck often in the middle of a cut. Frustrating. I tend to favor the plug in saws if I had a longer cut to make. For short cuts on 2x4 or something similar, Ryobi is fine.

I think it's really dependent on how much you use them. I've had Ryobi has my main line and do pretty much everything DYI. I've yet to be unhappy. That said, I've only seen pros use Milwaukee or Dewalt. I don't know how much beating Ryobi can take in comparison.

Anybody have the mini chainsaw? I have a telescopic chainsaw from a different manufacturer, and after cutting so many limbs, the chain pops off. I'm just wondering if this thing stays together and you can get through a job without a lot of fixing along the way.
A bit off topic but I was looking at the mini chainsaw but then was thinking the One-Handed Reciprocating Saw might be easier for my mom to handle and a bit safer...thoughts/comparisons of the two for garden work and trimming of limbs?

The best I can do is give you the same seller with the same design.
They reset the auction/item number often so the one I bought ($22) is gone.

Depends on the tools you want. I have almost all the Ryobi tools in 18v, but I sprinkled in Milwaukee 12v stuff for all the mechanics tools and a few other items they had before Ryobi released their version like the mini chainsaw, 3" cutter, and Hackzall. I also picked up the 12V surge impact driver. I use it for my main driver around the house. The nice thing about the Milwaukee 12v line is how light and compact it is for everyday use so that is my recommendation on adding a 2nd line no matter what your first line is.
This is how I roll also. Milwaukee 12v impact with 4ah battery is my primary. If I need more power, I will grab one of the several 18v lines lying around. As others have mentioned, Ryobi typically has the most affordable niche tools. I use 2 large Ryobi fans pair with 6ah batteries at all my kids' soccer games. Batteries were cheap, and fans were even cheaper (DTO free shipping sale). In the 10 years I've been building my Ryobi line, I have only had one battery fail. I keep all tools in the attached garage in Houston heat. My Ridgid subcompact line has lots of power too but they seem to have a bit of a delay when u pull the trigger compared to the Milwaukee and Makita options. All my chainsaws, inflator and pressure washer are Ryobi. Happy customer.

I got the 10" chainsaw with battery offer a few years back. I picked it up bc while clearing some branches with my corded chainsaw, I sliced through the extension cord.

The Ryobi 10" chainsaw is a great addition to chop down bushes (especially the thick bases) and dead trees or limbs. (1" or greater). I chopped down a dead tree in late July about 10" across. The 18V was fine; I did sharpen the chain teeth with the Dremel attachment.

I noticed some chain teeth nicks while sharpening, so I bought the 4-pack replacement chains for $22 from Amz.

BTW, my 12v Bosch drill and driver laugh at Milwaukee toys.
I have the Milwaukee 12v ratchet, drill, driver, mini-saw, and stubby impact. Aside from the stubby impact with 6Ah battery, the rest are just okay. When I need drilling into wood, metal, etc., my Bosch are superior in balance and feel. While the Milwaukee mini-saw worked okay with my exhaust, it couldn't even cut a small tree branch! Disappointing.

For 18v, I have a Ridgid. I got the drill as a gift and added the impact before I got the Milwaukee stubby.

Lastly, for homeowners with small to medium yards, the 18v Ryobi are great. The Ryobi 40v are phenomenal. I just picked up the 40v Expand-It trimmer as I had the edger attachment. That edger is money on the 40v stick. The trimmer is dual line, so it makes quick work of any weeds and overgrowing grass.

Just tighten it as you go. It slips because when metal(chains) heat up it expands, just remember to loosen it up when your done. This issue is normal for chainsaws. If it's too much, maybe try a different brand of chain.

What is your beef with the orbiting sander? I picked up my older model the other say, and it was dead. Haven't used it in a while. So looking at the newer model. The PCL406. What is wrong with it?
Probably vibration issues

I have HP and non-HP batteries - there is little to no difference. In fact, I think it's mostly marketing based on some YouTube reviews
Saw a video where someone took both apart and some has the same batteries inside.
The difference is that the HP batteries has another contact point which let the HP tool to use the "extra" power.

My main cordless tools line is Ridgid. But there are things they don't make (e.g., stapler) that I'd like to have - in a nice to have sorta way - but also expect to use not these all that often. I understand I can buy an adaptor for Ridgid to ______.

I wanna keep it to one other brand...do you recommend Milwaukee or Ryobi?
I'm mostly Ridgid, but have a couple Ryobi and also some Milwaukee 12v line. Is not horrible not staying with one brand.

Ridgid is stepping it up and they do have a stapler, so I don't really regret going Ridgid at least just yet. Milwaukee is like double the price in some tools and most Ridgid products I have I got for half the price or around that.

This is a fantastic deal! It used to be that you got 2x 3ah batteries and one of the crappiest brushed tools in the lineup. I own all but one of the tools on the list and some of them are world-class (in comparison to my high-end cordless tools), such as the multi-tool and the router or just really good, like the angle grinder and the hackzall.

The two I'd definitely stay away from are the sander and the circ saw.
Why the sander? I'd been thinking about getting one.

Can anyone comment on Ryobi warranty claims? I recently reached out and was basically blown off. Tool died under a year and was just left feeling like their CS isn't worth the savings going forward... I still need to see where this goes but certainly rubbed one the wrong way!

Sounds like you might need a new chain. Or, there should be an tension adjustment.

lol, same boat. Got a clearance Hart pole saw attachment a while back. Chain kept slipping, so don't use any more. Now I'm climbing trees with my reciprocating saw. smh
It's not a great price at the moment, but I've seen DTO list the Ryobi One+ pole saw for pretty darn cheap numerous times in the past.
