Same company/manufacturer, different product tier.

The circular saw is the only tool I have from Ryobi that I am not actually a fan of. Blade tends to get stuck often in the middle of a cut. Frustrating. I tend to favor the plug in saws if I had a longer cut to make. For short cuts on 2x4 or something similar, Ryobi is fine.

I think it's really dependent on how much you use them. I've had Ryobi has my main line and do pretty much everything DYI. I've yet to be unhappy. That said, I've only seen pros use Milwaukee or Dewalt. I don't know how much beating Ryobi can take in comparison.

What are the knocks on the circ saw? I'm a home owner/DIY'er, with a very old hand-me-down corded circ saw. I certainly don't "need" a new one, but can definitely be SlickDealed into one and this one caught my eye. I'm already deep into the Ryob iOne+ system due to other SD/DTO deals as well.
I have abut 30 Ryobi tools, all accumulated the past 24 months for projects on my kids new "fixer-upper" home. I also have dozens of Dewalt and Porter Cable tools as well. Dewalt was always my "go to" brand. That being said, most of the Ryobi stuff is very good. The smaller tools like drivers, sanders, reciprocating tools, glue guns, finishing nailers, etc. work real well. The smaller circular saw is OK - not powerful and often binds when compared to my larger Dewalt saw. But for smaller projects and quick cutting of 2x3s, plywood, etc. it is my go to for portability. Been doing home improvement for 35 years.

Got the pole saw for 20 bucks at Home Depot years ago. Was under a shelf hidden, legit like 90% off

Non-brushless angle grinder is only $60 while the brushless is $99. I have plenty of batteries already. Will non-brushless be good enough for odd jobs around the DIY house?
It was for 15+ years of battery tools with brushed motors

It's a stitch smaller than the standard 7 1/4" blade size so you lose a little cutting depth. Usually the smaller saws are a bit weaker than the bigger ones, too. If you're comparing vs a larger brushed saw they're probably on par. But you do get a smaller saw to handle.

For an occasional use thing it would probably work just fine. If your corded saw is 7 1/4 maybe hold onto it for a bit in case you think you'll come into a situation where you need a deeper cut like a 4x4.

A bit off topic but I was looking at the mini chainsaw but then was thinking the One-Handed Reciprocating Saw might be easier for my mom to handle and a bit safer...thoughts/comparisons of the two for garden work and trimming of limbs?
She might do better with compound loppers. They give a lot of force and are very low impact. They also cut way cleaner than a reciprocating saw. Fiskar PowerGear or PowerGear2 both work well.

That 3 gallon wet vac for $99 is tempting . Though only $30 cheaper than current prices.

Unless you need Link or the 3 gallons, the 1 gallon vacuum is probably the better buy if this is not your only vacuum. 5 cfm less, but much easier to handle.

Is this hackable, like in the past? Since it's 2 different items, can I return the batteries and keep the tool (obviously not for free). I have tons of batteries but do want some of these tools. If I recall, they split the $100 into the battery and the tool and refund you the portion you return.

Never would have jumped into Dewalt if Ryobi's tool lineup back then was even close to how it is now. Back then I went Dewalt just for brushless tools, but now Ryobi has pretty much all of them. To top it off I got stuck with a Makita track saw because Dewalt and Ryobi both didn't make those back then. Ended up with some Bosch 12v as well because I needed that FlexiClick that nobody else made back then too. Actually mildly annoying having so many different brands, planned to consolidate brands as tools break, but tools aren't breaking.

I don't know how people seem to break their tools. I use my tools pretty heavily for work, and aside from a Flexvolt saw, nothing else has ever broken or needed warranty. Granted I do mostly in home remodels, and don't throw my tools off the roof the few times I did roofing related jobs. I don't think Ryobi or any other brand tools really just 'break by themselves' like some people seem to say unless you abuse them or maybe just use the same tool for a decade.

Batteries on the other hand, I do have a handful of dead Ryobi batteries that no longer charge. It's the only brand I'm ending up with dead batteries for.

I'd like to get the multitool, but does anyone know whether it's decent enough for cutting the occasional 2x4 or plywood?

I'm already in the Ryobi ecosystem, and unfortunately we've got so much [stuff] in our garage that it's easier to have just one or two tools accessible. I hate lugging out the circular saw for that small sort of thing. I'd prefer the multitool to the reciprocating saw since there's more I can do with it.

I want to try their work light but i don't want to invest in another echosystem. Already have rigid. Rigid work light is very expensive.
FWIW, I have this Ryobi work light and love it. It's nice and stable when the battery is in place, easy to carry, very bright ( 2 settings), and does not seem to drain the battery very fast.

Anybody have the mini chainsaw? I have a telescopic chainsaw from a different manufacturer, and after cutting so many limbs, the chain pops off. I'm just wondering if this thing stays together and you can get through a job without a lot of fixing along the way.
Love it, might get a 2nd
