EDIT: After placing an order successfully at a different store, I'm pretty sure the person I talked to was confused.
Besides the 6, I have the 8 and 10 also. Plus tree pruners, and, several gas powered saws and manual tree pruners.
I was in a bucket lift for two weeks on my property with hundreds of trees, pruning dead limbs, trimming up, taking some trees out ... just rotating tools as needed depending on the size of the cut and letting the saws and batteries cool off a bit ... as it was the heat of the summer.
Great tool. I did exchange it ( the 6" mini saw ), because right away it just did not sound right, under a bit of pressure it sounded like a broken drill or some loose bolts in a jar ... it did not die on me, but the others are just quieter and never made any of that sound over the years I had it. The replacement has it less, so far. It may be inherent to the system. I won't know till next year probably until I do a second wave of pruning. Anyway.
Great one hand feeling. I was cutting with either hand.
Super easy to get in tight spaces. Or even reach around a bit when the bucket couldn't reach.
Hold a branch with one hand to support it, cut with the other, toss the branch where needed.
The plastic guard on top flexes, so when doing flush cuts, you will be shaving some plastic off of it.
It is oilless ... so no leaking oil like with the 10" or with the tree pruner. But to help the tool, I periodically drizzle some of the organic saw oil from Ryobi that comes in a small bottle ( just punch two holes in the little foil under the cap, shake before use ) along the chain & bar edge, and then let it run for two seconds, so it draws the oil in the bar and spreads it. Hopefully that helps with durability. As I don't quite like the idea of oilless.
Anyway.
Lovely little saw.
Its probably fine for a few quick cut on a downed limb like 90% of people would use it for.
I find i try to use my dewalt saws as little as possible because of the clean up after from the oil lol (get out the recip saw). This might be interesting to try being so cheap with returning the batteries.

Oil. They now have in the manuals: drain the oil after every use to prevent the leaking :/ I am not really interested in doing that. I use the saws to frequently and I'm not going to make a mess trying to poor the saw oil back in the bottle.
So, the oilless intrigues. Like I said, I drizzle some of their saw oil on it ... just because, that's what all saws use for decades; and I don't know which other spray can of silicone or whatever I could use to give it some durable lubrication. Longevity, ultimately, who knows whether I am helping it ... or not.

I have a couple of niche Ryobi tools I use, but this isn't my main brand. I logged in to say thanks to the OP as I bought the grease gun. I own several pump versions with the locknlube tips (buy those or their competitor's) but I wanted a powered one for the tractor and implements.

I'm going with the two 2 amp + two tool deal and think it would be strong match with the 2 amp batteries compared to some of the other cutting tools.
It is compact, very easy to use ... and suited me super well to do tree trimming up high in a bucket lift, or on a ladder, where you can hold the branch you want to drop ... or if you need to steady yourself one hand on a ladder.
The only thing I have done more compact than that is my Bosch 12v reciprocating saw to trim in super tight quarters or trim fresh fibrous plants ... like birds of paradise ... while on a ladder. The Ryobi one handed recip saw could probably do the same. But when it comes to tree branches, the chainsaw is faster than a reciprocating saw ... unless you maybe use two hands, and have the Ridgid recip saw with a fresh demo blade in orbital mode.
Also what do you guys use the multi tool for?
