The circular saw is the only tool I have from Ryobi that I am not actually a fan of. Blade tends to get stuck often in the middle of a cut. Frustrating. I tend to favor the plug in saws if I had a longer cut to make. For short cuts on 2x4 or something similar, Ryobi is fine.

I think it's really dependent on how much you use them. I've had Ryobi has my main line and do pretty much everything DYI. I've yet to be unhappy. That said, I've only seen pros use Milwaukee or Dewalt. I don't know how much beating Ryobi can take in comparison.

I am mostly in agreement with you, but have a question. If I am pruning a lot of bushes, a 2 handed lopper becomes time consuming. Wouldnt a 1 handed reciprocating saw be a lot faster?
I have front hedges and a mutant shrub, that got mixed in, somehow grows three times as fast as the rose of Sharon and whatever the other one is called. I've always used the full sized recip for it. I like the longer tool as I feel I get good leverage holding back at the handle and using the other hand to put a little pressure in the gray section.

I finally cut the mutant down to the trunk. Have to get the chainsaw to it now.

Manual lopers suck when you cant get the right angle to open them up enough or just have a branch that's too thick. They get awkward quick when you're working around limited space and finding it a pain to get it hooked around a branch. To me that's the time consuming part. The actually cutting is easy.

Haven't ventured to a single handed yet. Was going to get the Milwaukee M12 one but still haven't pulled the trigger.

But at the trunk, I just learned that using a chainsaw dulls it if it goes into the dirt. So isnt that what a reciprocating saw is useful for?

I did not know that Ryobi updated the LED light that I had wanted for a while. The new one I got with this promotion is the PCL633B which is 3000 lumens on bright. This light is ridiculously bright and on the verge of being too much light for indoors on bright. I live in a well lit city and it illuminated everything nearby even with streetlights and ambient lighting.

This would be great for first responders for scene lighting or to throw in the trunk of a patrol vehicle for interstate crashes at night to illuminate scenes.

Yesterday evening similar thing happened where store price was $99. When added free tool, price bumped to $200. Then in the "view cart", when I checked they are in "Delivery". After ensuring both battery and free tool to "Pickup" price changed to $99.

I had the same issue - very frustrating. I did it in the app. It was a fresh install - and actually found out Samsung Pay has a 6% cash back so that was nice...

I first added the battery to cart, then click the "add tool". It was weird because then I had 2 batteries in the cart + blower. There was 1 battery that wasn't at $99 - I removed it and it was fine. I believe somehow depending on the sequence of how you add it will put a $139 battery in there.

Maybe try that sequence - or before adding to cart, add the free tool where it says "Free gifts with purchase" before adding to cart. Definitely a bug in their system!

I use a one-handed reciprocating saw with pruning blade for trimming and cutting down bushes. In the cases where I'm going to remove the bush entirely, after trimming down to near the ground, dig up around the trunk to expose the roots, then cut the roots with the saw. Before I had this saw, I would use a mattock to cut the roots.

It's a welcome addition to my bush and tree trimming arsenal of Fiskars pruning stik, one and two handed loppers, electric and manual pole saws, regular reciprocating saw, chainsaw.

The pruning blade isn't affected by dirt. Occasionally, it might hit a rock in the ground or a part of the trunk and bend. Sometimes repairable by using pliers to straighten out the blade. Haven't noticed a difference in cutting performance when using name brand vs. generic pruning blades. 6" blade for one-handed saw and 9" or 12" blade for regular saw.

Can I use one to run on a trolling motor or will it die pretty fast ?
How many amps is the trolling motor? How far do you plan on going? How much of the throttle will you need to maintain your speed (in current/wind)?

As a real ballpark guess most trolling motors in regular use would be far too hard on even a 12Ah battery to use regularly and last 10-20 minutes at best. IIRC most Ryobi batteries are only rated to loads around 240W or so, and at that power level last less than an hour. Again this is not true in all cases, just a rough reference based on the common capacities most people are familiar with.

I know but adapters are problematic.
Quote from bobdob They make Ridgid Battery to Ryobi Tool adapters.

Adapters do not work for batteries manufactured after 2021 even if they fit. Rigid made modifications . Your post is incorrect

Missed this last time especially when it went down to $79 for the two batteries + one tool. So this time I took it with the Angle Grinder which by the way is the HP version. So I am keeping both batteries and tool. Thanks OP.
