I bought a box of these exact bars at my local grocery. I ate one for breakfast and didn't feel very well. But didn't make the connection. After all, they are healthy Kind bars, right? The next day I had another and felt even worse. That was when I checked the ingredients and found the dreaded chicory root. It's a non-soluble fibrous root that no one would eat if you found it in the wild. But package food manufacturers figured out that they could grind it up, put it in food, and then advertise ridiculously high amounts of fiber in the food. I expected better from Kind, a company that claims to make food from simple natural ingredients.
