The batteries in all these power banks are 3.7V, but USB charging occurs at 5V. This means that every 10000 mAh battery pack has a usable maximum of 7400 mAh (10000 / 5 * 3.7). Then charging inherently incurs efficiency losses – about 20% on average – meaning you can expect the final (or "rated") capacity of pretty much all 10000 mAh battery packs to be around 5920 mAh (7400 * 80%) – though some are more or less efficient than others.

Not entirely sure that pertains to what you were seeing, but hopefully it helps!
I only got 26.55 Wh out of this in my initial test ([email protected] discharge, which, uh, is also less than the rated 20W; it can however do [email protected]).

It's labeled for ≥ 75% efficiency and ≥ 37 Wh, so it's either < 72% efficiency or < 37 Wh, either of which violates the text on the unit itself. I'm charging it back up now to see if we can wheedle out which it is, but this isn't a great first impression and I'm probably returning it.

edit: charging it back up at 5V@2A cost 39.3 Wh. I got 31.6 Wh discharging at [email protected]. So it seems like the efficiency is just bad.

edit 2025-03-01: this thing is just trash now. I don't know why I didn't return it. I can barely get half of these numbers out of it now.

I got this today. I mainly wanted a couple powerbanks for use while traveling so bought this one and a magsafe style one (6000mah) from baseus also. There was a 5% combo discount so I said why not.

I'm not super thrilled with the form factor. Candy bar shape just feels weird. Maybe if it were more squared off but it really doesn't conform to any sizing of anything else I have. Too narrow / too long to be convenient I guess. The rounding / curved nature makes it less stable/flat for stacking. It'll work though.

The magsafe one was 20. Fits OK on my phone (s23 ultra with torras brand magsafe case). It wants to be slightly crooked.

Both offered wired or wireless fast charging without issue though. No problems with functionality I tested.

these are fine and dandy until your phone overheats and you've got a small fire!
If this power bank cause your phone to overheat, the problem is with your phone.

that's not how advertisement works

it LEGALLY has to be shown as an advertisement if it is one... and they definitely feel like them
"If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale." That pretty much means any of them can get money from it. And it's shown by one of the moderators here. I assume most of these posts are paid shills lately tbh.

Their 65W 20kmAh is $48, and I can use it with my MacBook Pro. That's appealing, but I'd like to find something similar with solar inputs and a little more capacity. If I could use it on a plane, that would be great, but something smaller would be good. I have a Bluetti PS70, so just wanted something a little better, but not huge, and no AC power.
