The batteries in all these power banks are 3.7V, but USB charging occurs at 5V. This means that every 10000 mAh battery pack has a usable maximum of 7400 mAh (10000 / 5 * 3.7). Then charging inherently incurs efficiency losses – about 20% on average – meaning you can expect the final (or "rated") capacity of pretty much all 10000 mAh battery packs to be around 5920 mAh (7400 * 80%) – though some are more or less efficient than others.

Not entirely sure that pertains to what you were seeing, but hopefully it helps!
I only got 26.55 Wh out of this in my initial test ([email protected] discharge, which, uh, is also less than the rated 20W; it can however do [email protected]).

It's labeled for ≥ 75% efficiency and ≥ 37 Wh, so it's either < 72% efficiency or < 37 Wh, either of which violates the text on the unit itself. I'm charging it back up now to see if we can wheedle out which it is, but this isn't a great first impression and I'm probably returning it.

edit: charging it back up at 5V@2A cost 39.3 Wh. I got 31.6 Wh discharging at [email protected]. So it seems like the efficiency is just bad.

edit 2025-03-01: this thing is just trash now. I don't know why I didn't return it. I can barely get half of these numbers out of it now.

this makes a lot of sense cause i have their 20,000mAh power bank and it definitely only charges a little over ~10,000mAh give or take a bit

I was considering this one was and noticed the same situation. Hard pass, as there's no actual purchases. Will look at Anker.

Price seems too good to be true. All of the reviews are "sponsored." Hard pass for me.
I've been using for a few days now, and it works ok on my iphone 15 pro.

honestly, with so many fake reviews, I dont trust reviews on most these banks, but this one does the job and it's so cheap, that it was worth a shot. I got two of them now, in preparation of an upcoming international trip. I have a few 10K mah chargers and they deplete a bit too fast for my liking.

this thing is heavy, however, the housing is almost identical to my older 20000 AH bank, so not sure how real the 26800 claim is, however it does have quite a bit more juice than 10K for sure, and having 4 total ports is nice.

amazon is a lot of rehashed products at different prices, a general rule is to get the cheapest item you can, 20K+ mah battery bank with USB-C + PD for 12 bucks is a good deal

The shills are crazy. Baseus stuff constantly posted, immediate frontpage, lots of shill comments... if a company has to do all of that, it tells a lot about the product not being able to stand on its own
if you havent noticed, this entire site works off of affiliates, that's how they make money. It can be a bit shillish at times, but SD has a pretty good record of finding deals.

the thing with these chinese company deals is that there is a LOT to weed through, however, if you can find the lowest price item, you probably can find a good deal like the $12 power bank I posted in this thread. Amazon is a crap company that hides a lot of good deals because that's their business model, even this sponsored item was at least three pages down before I can find the item. They could be trying to build a brand or what not...... good thing for amazon's great return policy, I can return if problematic.... at the end of the day, these are a bunch of batteries in a housing, it's not that complicated and shouldnt be so expensive.

EDIT: SD effect, they have raised the price to $17......

Yall falling for scams if you paid for a 10,000 mah battery and are only receiving a 6,000 mah battery. Can't believe some people on these forums are convincing you it's okay the 10,000 mah battery you paid for only says 6,000 mah on the battery. Theres a youtuber that has been opening amazon battery bank and discovering if the advertised battery capacity is actually what they advertise. Amazon has no consumer protection for these scam marketing and the youtuber has been opening the battery bank by destroying the case to seller capacity claims.

This is one of the youtube videos. More you can search for.

Just the way these power banks are made, if your phone has more charge than the power bank, it will reverse charge the power bank from your phone - if you use the USB C to C cable. However, any USB A cable will do fine and will always charge the phone no matter how low the power bank is. That's how it works with an Iphone.

Bro, this video you linked doesn't even show the Baseus battery pack brand being opened. they're other brands in the video and out of the few battery packs he did open, only 2 from the same company were fake. how about you open this baseus battery pack and show me that the company is actually lying. lmao

never did the math, but also never realized microusb could do 18w charging as input! seems like an excellent deal though..just wondering if it has pass-through charging.

also do I need yet another charger..what will wifey think
Micro USB should be limited to USB spec which would be 15w from a 3.1 port
Idk if the micro port would even be able to run that many amps though because google says that it's designed for 10w max

I thought this was a better deal, slightly apples/oranges, but a 26800 power bank, max airline limit, $12 with clippable coupon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CBS31...ct_details
Yikes. Price too good to be true, brand new seller with 31 reviews, random letters brand name, all the product reviews are paid.

You should really do the bare minimum of consumer research before ordering stuff like this and then posting it on SD for others.

Also 26800mAh is not the max for airlines, this is a common misconception. All domestic airlines in fact allow up to 160Wh (about 43000mAh), easily confirmed on their websites.
