Better to be over-watt than under; devices will only pull what they need. Some laptops are 100w.

This model is safety certified by TUV SUD which is an NRTL similar to UL. Certificate no. U8 005028 0381 Rev. 00 to standards CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1:2019, UL 62368-1:2019/R:2021-1.

Yeah I saw that before. It's been dropping its price for a few weeks now. I feel like it can drop a few more bucks by Black Friday. Gonna wait and see. Besides, it is not an item that I urgently need but would reduce clutter and amount of chargers I travel with.

For those who care, someone mentioned a couple of days ago, the Anker chargers usually aren't certified (e.g., UL) which keeps down the price. But maybe safety isn't the best way to save a buck?

I picked up a couple of these as my wife travels a lot and will need this for her phone. Also to tidy up my counter

I'm confused... isn't 100 watts total overkill to charge a phone OR a laptop?

Yes but pricey and doesn't include cable which is expensive for such wattage

There are definitely 90 and 100W laptops out there, especially thin laptops with entry level DGPUs. Two that I've previously owned include Acer Swift X and MSI Prestige, each with USB C charging supported.

My wife and I recently upgraded our laptops to a couple of 17" Dell models. One came with a 130W PS, the other a 240. I don't know how much power the laptops actually draw and how much of those numbers is excess to power peripherals, but it seems... hefty.
