Beware this thing is not able to charge my 14 inch MacBook pro with USB c with full wattage. Only up to 85. But with magsafe it is able to charge at 100w. Some weird tweaks either by apple or by anker but good to know before you buy
I've been tracking the price of this and it has been the same price since Prime day
I bought this yesterday and it arrived today. Just a heads up, this thing is much larger then expected

That's probably a good thing for a charger with this power. The smaller, high power Anker ones are known to get super hot.

So this is being advertised as a Macbook Pro Charger. Wouldn't any 100-watt charger be able to charge a Macbook Pro? Or is there some special chip that the laptop requires?

You are correct. It's just advertising. It's a usb c charger. Period. Macs are just more known for having high powered USB chargers, so they get that keyword search bump

Is it possible that you have battery protection enabled?
I know in Windows it is possible to enable this ...the theory being that you greatly extend battery life if you cap out charging at 85%.
I would not be surprised to find that Apple does the same.

They said "wattage", not "percentage". 2021 or later 14in MacBook pro should be able to charge at up to 140W with a fully compatible charger + cable combo

It is a good deal. From a reputable brand. Those cheap ass here keeps buying off brand cheap charger. Those will burn their house down.

It is a very good deal.
And it is an excellent brand.
Having said that...burn the house down?

That gets thrown around here just a little too often. If people do exactly as others say...then POOF..there goes the house.

Here is the thing though. There are literally MILLIONS of aftermarket chargers in this country.
And I am betting that you have never...ever...even known a person who has had their house get burned down with one.
Not read about in the paper.
Not saw on the news.
A person that you know. A person that you personally have had a conversation with.

Now could it happen? Yes. Of course, somebody will win the Lottery. Somebody will get struck by lightning. But I am betting you have not met any of those people either.

I am not suggesting that people do not give opinions on quality. But maybe a little less "Karen" in the opinions.
