Every deal i've seen this week has been for ATT and VZW, no matter what the store.
Cheapest Verizon plan for a single line is around $80 including taxes.
Visible (same service) is $25 a month no taxes.
You end up paying almost twice as much for the phone. Essentially you pay an extra $980 in interest over 3 years. This is why the phone companies have these offers, it is insanely profitable for them.
The math might change with a grandfathered plan or multiple lines bit it isn't likely to be a good deal. Money now is worth more than money a year from the present.
I also don't know how people use the same iPhone for more than 2 years. I have noticed the performance drops significantly around 18 months after release.
