Verizon screwed me on pretty much the same deal last year. They took my working XR trade in, got the 14 pro, added a new line with BYOD for $500 gift card too.

They have since been charging me for the 14Pro monthly for 1 year, and never send the gift card for BYOD. Basically they stole my own phone and are charging me full price. Dozens of calls, store visits and probably 40hrs invested and still nothing.

I really despise VZ.
Yes, if trade in doesn't go smooth, dealing with Verizon customer service is an absolute nightmare, especially their outsourced/foreign support. They promise it'll come in next billing cycle and then of course it doesn't.

I had a problem with Verizon last year. I submitted a complaint to the FCC online. I got a call from Verizon executive offices the next day. It was settled to my satisfaction.

Anyone have any idea how long you have to leave and go month to month with another carrier before you can be considered adding new lines back to Verizon? Customer service told me a month then another said 70 days.

When upgrading, do you get to keep your current plan? Or are you forced to switch to one of the plans they currently offer?

Do they charge or waive the activation fee in Costco Verizon Kiosk? Costco TMobile is waiving the activation fee if I remember correctly.

Looking at this deal as a long-time Verizon's customer, but T-Mobile is looking attractive after visiting Costco today.

The trade-in offers at T-Mobile look similar to Verizon.

Plus there's a $150 Costco gift card per line. And $250 porting (for up to 2 lines.)

The sales person told me he can offer $200 porting credit for up to 4 lines. He can also offer a coupon for 20% off.

Moving 5 lines would be $750 ($150 x 5) and $800 ($200 x 4.) 20% off the Go5G Plus plan that comes with Netflix and Apple TV.

T-Mobile is 24 month financing compare to Verizon's 36 month financing.

I'm dumping T Mobile too many data breaches. They just had another the 8th since I've been with them.
Doesn't matter if you dump them or not. I stopped using T-Mobile around 2001 and they still had all my personal information and it was leaked. Until this country changes its laws about data retention they're going to have yours for another 20 years too.

uhhh... not to point out the obvious, but if you got the 14 Pro from them, you didn't BYOD and qualify for those benefits.

I fail to understand how this is even remotely a good deal. You have to be on their most expensive plan and need to be a new customer.

Today I went to nearby Costco to enquire about these 15 pro deals. Surprisingly, the rep explained me about the whole new deals which I never heard and seen anywhere.

The deals is Verizon offers the free iPhone 15 pro & pro max for Costco members and we need to be with them for 36 months with eligible unlimited plans. In this case, he told that we can choose the Unlimited Welcome (starter plan) that cost $37 with group discount (6 lines). Additionally, we can get $20 discount when enable the auto pay and paperless billing per line which will come down to $17. And, they will charge the pro max EMI $33 for first two bills ONLY. In third bill, they will refund that and then no more EMI in the upcoming bills. Also, we will get Costco shop card $250 for each new line. Has anyone heard these deals?

I have 5 lines on a 5g Start plan. Has anyone been successful getting the full trade in value while not upgrading to at least the Unlimited plus plan? I pay $30 per month per line currently and the CS rep I chatted with told me it would be $42 per line per month if I moved to the Unlimited Plus plan. Has anyone kept their old plan successfully?
I spoke with the most amazing CSR today. I ran by all of my scenarios and was clear. I have a similar scenario, though I have 6 lines total with 4 lines under 5G Start, two of which are iPhone XS Max's, one with an iPhone 7+, another with a Samsung.

1) if you do the upgrade promo ($830) for some form of iPhone 15, you must switch to the Unlimited Plus or Ultimate plan. On the plus side, the benefit is you can trade in an ancient phone like an iPhone 6. (You can find these used on craiglist or eBay for like $50 - but it seems like everyone seems to have old spares these days.). In my case, I could keep the XS Max and replace the iPhone 7+

2) If you want to keep the Start plan: look under
Shop > Deals > My Offers.

If you have a 2+ year old phone on your account ready for upgrade, you may see an offer like:

"Upgrade and get up to $730 off iPhone 15 Series".
This offer will allow you to trade in an XS or newer in for $730 off an iPhone 15. The BIG benefit of this is you'll be allowed to keep the 5G Start plan.

3) Worth noting, the Unlimited Welcome plan is actually cheaper at $27/mo than the likely $30/mo you're currently paying for 5G start when you have as many lines as you do. You may want to consider that switch. The main thing you lose with Welcome plan is no hotspot data included. If it's never used then save some bucks.

I'm working through the math here. One one hand, it's alarming that they've made the trade-in cutoff as the XS/XS Max level. It's still a pretty nice phone that gets all the updates. The worry is whether next year it'll get cut off from full trade in value. Right now you can buy a used but fully working xs/256 on ebay for under $300.

On the other hand, if you do the new super promo and get your $830 off with an old decrepit phone, you'll still have the XS to rotate out your weakest device. The downside is you'll pay around $42/mo ($12 more) because they'll force you to move to the unlimited plus plan. Over the course of 36 months, that's $432 more… until you're allowed to downgrade to a lower tier plan.

They don't its poor people that can't afford to buy the phone outright so they sign their sole to the devil to get it.
