Trading in through Costco isn't much different than placing the order for the phone directly thru Verizon's website and attaching a trade-in with the order. The only difference is they're punching it into the website through their portal for you instead of you doing it yourself (which I personally don't like because if you get a rep who doesn't know what they're doing, who knows what options they're randomly selecting when going through the order process. But I did it for the $250 GC which I have no paperwork to prove I'm actually getting it.) Verizon will ship you a box with return shipping label either way. Perhaps one difference is you don't have the choice to bring it into a Verizon store for the trade-in, but once again, I don't know if that's just because the Costco rep never told me that option when he was going through the order on his tablet.

I much preferred trading-in by shipping it in. Saves me a lot of time and my trade-in got approved for full $1000 value within a day of them receiving it.
Exactly my thoughts… if I trust the Costco rep enough on the process, the $250 may be worth it

The costco rep should be logging into your account by requesting access from you via the Verizon App. You allow them access through that.

They will go through and order the new phone, inform them you will do a payment plan, take the IMEI of your trade-in phone (directly, if it is an active phone on the account, or manually if you have one not on the account) and then you should get a link to open and review before the order is placed.

If you aren't getting the ability to approve anything first, that person doens't know what they're doing.

Once it is approved, they should print out a transaction receipt showing what all was done.

Can someone help me with the math below. I am currently on t-mobile essentials ($105 for 3 lines) and looking to switch to verizon for this deal. 36 months isn't going to be a problem for me. I just want to make sure I am not missing any additional fees/taxes on 2 new lines wither on unlimited ultimate or unlimited plus with out any apple or disney add-on's.
I am also a current FIOS internet customer with the 300/300 mbps plan.

2 Lines:
Unlimited ultimate : 80*2 = 160
Tax + Total per month 175*36 = 6,300
Fios discount 15*36 = 540
Iphone trade-in 1000*2 = 2000
Costco newline 250*2 = 500

Net Cost : 6300-2000-540-500 = 3260
Monthly : 3260/36 = 90.5556

Unlimted plus : 70*2 = 140
Tax + Total per month 155*36 = 5,580
Fios discount 15*36 = 540
Iphone trade-in 830*2 = 1,660
Costco newline 250*2 = 500

Net Cost : 5580-540-500-1660 = 2880
Monthly : 2880/36 = 80

Do you think I covered everything or missing anything else?

Anyone know if this is still available? If you go to https://www.costco.com/verizon-br...wcase.html, it now says "Page Not Found". It used to have the promo on there.

So if you trade the phone in after 2 years do u lose 12 months of bill credits? Just curious as to how this works when you trade in a phone and they say u will get 36 month of credit.

So the entire transaction isn't just done on their "portal"? But what if you aren't a Verizon customer - how are they even requesting access through the Verizon app?

Iphone 15 pro = $1099
Iphone 13 trade in = -$1000

For those with Verizon.. how is the credits applied. Is it at the start of the billing cycle or is it all over the place ?

i.e T-mobile I think credited when the bills are generated.
currently with ATT and the credit is all over the place which is confusing and totally crappy.

It depends. If you've been with a carrier for years in the past and you've been happy with them, you're not likely to want to leave them in the next 3 years anyway.

Now if you've never had Verizon and you're not sure how good your signal will be with them, that would be a 3 year gamble that could be 3 years of misery.

I've been with AT&T on their higher tier unlimited plan for 10+ years. Signing on with a major carrier for 3+ years is not really an issue

Lol no. Verizon and effectively all carrier promos are bill credits over a 2-3 year term.
