Nightmare experience at Costco Commack, NY. Over 2.5 hours last night dealing with the rep who was either untrained or experiencing a glitch with the Verizon setup system. The issue was I was moving 3 lines from TMO and adding one new line. 2 of the ported lines from TMO were getting iPhone 15's, one BYOD port from TMO and one new line BYOD. The BYOD from TMO or the BYOD new line was preventing the system from finalizing the order. He kept telling me one of the BYOD phones was locked which wasn't true. The guy tried calling VZW support and got some dopey overseas rep who wasted another 30 minutes. I finally suggested that he do the 2 BYODs order first and sure enough that went through. Today, he went back and did the iPhone 15 ports from TMO and it took. OVER 3 HOURS including today. Just an awful experience.

Beware if you have a use case like mine.

Repped, thank you! At Costco's Verizon kiosk, do they enter the trade-in data for you and you just wait for Verizon to ship you a box (or elect to drop it off at a Verizon store)? Or is it still "indirect sales" in which they have no involvement with the trade-in process?
I'm not a Costco member so have no experience with the Kiosk. My guess would be that these are still indirect sales as I've never seen Verizon direct sales channels other than their website, Corp stores, or telesales.

With that said VARs can submit the trade in during the transaction and will typically mail it in for you. Again can't say what the Kiosk's are like though.

You get a $15 per month credit per line for BYOD. No $250 Costco card.

Are you saying the first post in this thread is wrong? Because the first thread explicitly says that UPGRADES are included in the ANY iphone promo but I think you are saying only NEW lines are eligible for ANY iphone promo. I'm upgrading from 5g start so wondering if I would qualify for ANY iphone or not.
I do not believe the ANY iphone applies to upgrades. The post by the SD staff indicates the same. Reason is this is a Verizon promo and I do not see any language that includes upgrades on what's been published. 3 ways I typically verify promos. 1) promos are shown (with the "calculator") on the device product page on Verizon's website, 2) stepping through Verizon's order process for both new line and upgrades, and 3) referencing Best Buys carrier offers as they are pretty good about listing the matrix of plans, new/upgrades, and device trade in tiers.

I'm not a Costco member so do not know what signage are put on display. I doubt the signs have language for upgrades. I also suspect reps are wrong if they indicate upgrades are included.

Where are you seeing you can trade in the iPhone 5 for max trade in credit? Do you get the $830 or $1000? I'm a current Verizon customer on an unlimited plan already maybe even their highest tier unlimited plan so upgrading my plan may not be an option. Looking to get the iPhone 15 pro, sell my iPhone 13 Pro private party and trade in a cheap iPhone instead
The slickdeal is to stack promos using the lowest and cheapest phone you can buy to trade in and sell your old phone. For this Costco deal if you're in a "premium" data plan, e.g. get/do/play, upgrade through Costco to get the $100 GC. Then buy a cracked screen S10(e/+) with good IMEI on ebay for $50-$60 to trade in for thr $830 credit. Sell your 13 Pro for $500-$600.

This is exactly what I did to upgrade a 13 pro on one of my lines except I did it direct with Verizon as I don't have Costco membership.

I did this last night, traded an old iphone 5 for a $830 credit(No elligible for the $1,000) and got a regular iphone15 with a NEW LINE for my son who's needing a phone now. Pretty happy with end results but that wasn't my original plan as I got hit with an unexpected roadblock:

I have a 5x line plan and needed to add a 6th for my young son. My wife has a 12PRoMax that's all paid off and what I WANTED to do was
1.) Trade the old iphone5 for a $830 credit and get a new iphone15 ProMax
2.) Swap the 15ProMax on the NEW LINE with the 12ProMax on my Wife's OLD LINE
3.) So my wife would end up with a brand new 15ProMax on her OLD LINE and my young son will have a durable but less expensive 12Promax on his NEW LINE in case he loses/breaks it (it's his first phone..)

But the Verizon rep warned me the minute I moved the new 15PProMax to the OLD LINE from the NEW LINE I'd lose the remainder of the $830 promotional credit.

Is that consistent with everyone's understanding of how these promos work? No moving the phone to another line without losing the promo?

YMMV. yesterday I was talking to TMO rep on phone and almost placed the order, porting out 3 lines from VZ. Today, VZ texted me 'Great news! As a way of saying thanks, we are applying a $10/mo discount to every active phone line on your account for the next 12 months...'

This hasn't been the case for me, though I've not yet swap phones with an eSIM only phone. I've never encountered a Verizon promo where the phone itself is tied to the promo. It's been the DPP and service plan so as long as you maintain those two the bill credits will stay active. I've swapped phone, i.e. use another lines upgrade, many times and as recently as last month with a Fold 5 upgrade, though that was a physical SIM swap.

Verizon has supported using another line's upgrade for ages dating back to the days of contracts and subsidies.

What they have reportedly cracked down on is opening a new line and then canceling an existing line to take advantage of new line only promos.

I'm in your exact situation, I want to add a new line and swap the new phone with another line

Not sure why you only got 830, it should be 1k with a new line

I don't think you would forfeit the credits as long as you are keeping the line active. Your are just swapping the phones

The problem I have is how to self help with phone swap now iPhone 15 uses esim only. Is it easy?

Yup. I bet that's what it is: It's the eSim card. I forgot, whenever I shuffled around phone on lines in the past I did it by swapping out the SIM cards from the phones and so now we can't move lines/phones. I mean, I'm sure Verizon will still allow it but:

1.) Verizon will have to move the lines/phones, we can't do it ourselves.
2.) Promotions tied to the line/card will likely be tied to the phone now

That sux but I guess the price of progress is the loss of some flexibility.

I gotta hand it to the young VRep though. He recognize the problem and pointed it out to me. He probably could have explained it better BUT he likely saved me a HUGE headache down the road. Criticize 'millenials' all you want, they come in handy at times.Smilie

FYi: I didn't get the full $1,000 because I was on an old plan and it didn't make sense to upgrade to the Ultimate/Ultimate plan. I got a middle-tier plan, saved about $10/month. only got a $830 credit but after a year it saves more $$ ultimately.

Oh you can get middle tier and trade any iPhone for 830 credits, lose 170 in credits but save 360 in plan after 3 years

That's aurally a better deal for me since ultimate is no better for me.

That's a critical info, thank you

Just went to Costco during my lunch break and guess what the Verizon rep is also on lunch break

I was not happy but glad now I found a even better deal for me
